Nothing will meaningfully improve until the rich fear for their lives

[–] [email protected] 6 points 2 days ago (1 children)

They’re still trying to draw and quarter our man Luigi, where the hell is Mario?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 days ago (1 children)

where the hell is Mario?

Why not you?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Because as his name indicates, he is like Ford Prefect in his desire to survive and not be sentenced for first-degree murder.

He is also like Zaphod Beeblebrox in how he lacks the self-awareness to think other people shouldn't share this desire quite as strongly, but rather should put their lives in danger to accomplish what would make him happy.

He should run for president

Personally i think people like you are 100x more cringe than any "armchair revolutionary"

Better an armchair revolutionary than an armchair slave

Not insider trading, no. It is market manipulation though and should probably be punishable by the largest SEC fine in history ^but ^it ^won't

Learned this trick from Elon.

Americans getting a first row experience of living in a Balkan kleptocracy during the 90s.

[–] [email protected] 14 points 2 days ago

Genocidal civil war when?

[–] [email protected] 12 points 2 days ago (1 children)
[–] [email protected] 32 points 2 days ago (3 children)

No the fuck we don't. No one deserves this shit.

[–] [email protected] 15 points 2 days ago (1 children)

My empathy would agree with you, but — while I'm well aware that racism and fascism are a product of ignorance, stupidity, poor education, and propaganda, all class warfare waged by Americas plutocrats — I also logically can't see any way out of this, any way to deprogram the nazis, without the average American feeling pain; the same kind of pain America has inflicted on dozens of countries, and hundreds of millions of people, over the last century... So much instability, suffering, and political violence that they ultimately reject neoliberalism and conservatism, and revolt against the plutocrats that created this mess.

You can't realistically "deprogram" tens of millions of MAGA. WW2 resulted in an ideological "cleansing" — a de-nazification — of the European population. So yeah... America will continue to devolve and regress until some sort of reset occurs, for better or for worse.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 2 days ago

Yeah, there is no easy way out of this. And so long as it continues millions upon millions of people both inside and outside of the US will suffer. But that doesn't mean we deserve this just for being born here.

Minorities in America shouldn't have to fear being put in a concentration camp. Workers in America shouldn't have to have their rights stripped from them,. Kids shouldn't be put in a situation where they have to work in a meat processing plant, they shouldn't have their chance at an education taken away from them. Trans americans shouldn't have to face being pushed entirely out of public life.

All of this is fucking wrong, saying that we deserve it implies that we shouldn't fight it. And we absolutely fucking should fight it; if we don't it won't just be us Americans who suffer.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

We "deserve" it in the same way that we "deserved" the 9/11 attacks. I'm not saying the people that will be hurt from this literally deserve it. I'm being hyperbolic to make a point about Blowback and the consequences of American Imperialism.

American Empire deserves to crumble and fall is essentially what I mean.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 days ago (2 children)

I think you're right - to an extent. You may not deserve this. Americans might not deserve this. Any other arbitrarily defined group of people may not deserve it.

But humanity as a whole? We are a disgusting scourge on this earth, and we probably deserve everything that's coming to us. The current situation is just a reflection of overaching dynamics of greed, lies and self-righteousness that have always been with us.

I realize this is basically an absurd notion of collective reaponsibility. At the same time, we have no one to blame for our species' toxic psychopathic behavior but the species as a whole. If we had any decency left we would just delete ourselves as quietly and staightforwardly as possible.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 days ago (1 children)

But what if we could still be the stepping stone to something better?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 days ago

That's the hope. But what if there is an event horizon beyond which that hope is lost forever. Are we even in control of ourselves?

Sixteen of the first, a dozen and a third of the later.

[–] [email protected] 18 points 2 days ago

It's not insider trading. It's market manipulation. Still a crime, but nothing will be done about it regardless.

[–] [email protected] 22 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Unrelated but I still find it incredibly stupid that he would choose @realXyz instead of just @xyz on the platform that HE controls.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 days ago

I think it just made sense to keep the same handle as he had in Twitter. Also I guess he somehow finds it "cool"

[–] [email protected] 11 points 2 days ago

Not how you use this meme

[–] [email protected] 15 points 2 days ago (1 children)

He's basically like HODL as he pauses and unpauses tariffs so billionaires can buy the dip and sell before he tweets. I miss the GME days where the little guy was winning against the big guy.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 days ago

AND there's a shitty version of Keith Gill, and he's the fucking PRESIDENT? Man, this timeline has everything…

[–] [email protected] 8 points 2 days ago

Its rebounding right back down though.

Looks like he wants the lemmings to buy enmasse so the whales can sell without bleeding.

[–] [email protected] 15 points 2 days ago (2 children)

I wasn't aware he had said that, but I independently concluded it actually was a good time to buy and increased my main position. Nothing earth shattering, but I did feel like an absolute genius for like 10 minutes while having my morning coffee today.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 2 days ago

Same. Threw what extra money I had into some reliable stocks. Did the same thing during Covid too, and it worked out pretty well for me. It feels a bit like I'm a crisis vampire, but I just don't want to be working anymore when I hit 60.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 days ago

I’m sure you felt like a “very stable genius” 😉

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 days ago

No buy, only sell.

Billionaires are like puppies with a tennis ball, except the puppy is smart enough to be trained.

I thought DJT had already been bought out by russia and the billionaires?

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 days ago

Somebody made a better offer.

[–] [email protected] 12 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Nah son, it's called the art of the deal

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Add the '/s' because you know that's exactly what his people are saying.

"He just trolled some rich folks, I thought you Libs wanted to build guillotines? He's never done anything bad to his own people!"

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 days ago

Yeah, I was basically mocking Leavitt. And /s should probably be my signature

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 days ago

It’s only insider trading if Trump is on the outside.
