im not pro-ai but I really doubt that there's nearly as much "negative sentiment" regarding it as these articles getting spammed makes it seem. it'd be great for the bubble to pop already but nearly all the people I know either dont care or actively use it. im starting to feel disconnected from reality on lemmy as it actively turns into Facebook

Yeah, they didn't really cite anything showing a deep hatred for AI like you see here on lemmy, alls they gave was:

As one Pew Research survey from 2025 found, about 60 percent of respondents said they’d like “more control” over how AI is used in their lives, while only 17 percent are “comfortable” with AI remaining in the hands of a few tech billionaires.

Which yeah, most people want more control over how they use anything, that doesn't mean they hate the thing. Same with anything "remaining in the hands of a few billionaires" you could say that about nearly any industry under capitalism, doesn't mean they hate that industry, it may mean they hate capitalism though...
