A place for all those who loathe AI to discuss things, post articles, and ridicule the AI hype. Proud supporter of working people. And proud booer of SXSW 2024.

AI, in this case, refers to LLMs, GPT technology, and anything listed as "AI" meant to increase market valuations.

3 years ago I posted on reddit that instacart and the such charge more than just a delivery fee, they jack the price up on each item that you buy. I got downvoted into oblivion, with tons of comments saying thats not true.

Doordash and the like do the exact same thing

Reddit is pretty fucking stupid.

DoorDash and Uber and such do this, too. If you buy through their apps, the cost of the same food from the same restaurant is like $2-3 more per item than it is at the actual location. And then they also slap on the delivery fee and other surcharges.

This is 100% true. I opened a support tucket to ask about the price differences. They claim stores set higher prices, not them.

All i know is when i need to use them, im going to pay more than if i shopped myself. But fuck me if im going to Sams club.... that place is a madhouse and theres never any parking.

Sam's Club is basicslly just walmart's version of Costco and Walmart does their own in-house delivery. Why doesn't Sam's Club, too?
