He's like some docile zombie. May he be experiencing hell in this state of living death.

[–] mojofrododojo@lemmy.world 14 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I hope he's miserable and in terrible pain. But I know that fucking over the dems would be his dying wish, no matter how morbid it went; hopefully they'll let him die now but seeing how underwater the GOP is in the senate I wouldn't hold my breath.

[–] mnemonicmonkeys@sh.itjust.works 3 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

Unfortunately he probably has this puppetteering requested in his will just to have one last chance at fucking over Democrats. He's that much of a spiteful POS

[–] mojofrododojo@lemmy.world 2 points 14 hours ago

But I know that fucking over the dems would be his dying wish,

yep

Not sure I see the resemblance…

This gif legit freaks me out. That weird perma-smile is just so uncanny valley, it's creepy af.

[–] murcielago@lemmy.world 3 points 16 hours ago

I feel like they shape his mouth into a smile before going in public

[–] cynar@lemmy.world 19 points 1 day ago (1 children)

The uncanny valley of likely a disease detection and avoidance system. In those pictures, he looks like he has significant brain damage. You're supposed to feel some revulsion, to keep you safe.

[–] Dweller6227@sh.itjust.works 10 points 1 day ago

Yeah, I read at one point that that is exactly the evolutionary purpose of uncanny valley. So you steer clear of people who seem almost human, but not quite right. Since they were generally sick in some fashion, like you said.

Now you know how the rest of the world feels about USian mandatory smiles in every human interaction.

““Happiness””

I got news, dude: all those waiters and clerks aren't happy to see you. They'll just be fired if they don't smile.

[–] Voixe2@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

Buddy I’m sorry to say but I think they might just not be happy to see you. The local grocer loves me :3

[–] SlurpingPus@lemmy.world 0 points 17 hours ago

I'm not in the US, so I don't have unreasonable expectations of customer service workers in the first place.

[–] FudgyMcTubbs@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Gtfo with that noise. Intentional smiling is encouraged by zen teachers worldwide.

[–] SlurpingPus@lemmy.world -2 points 23 hours ago* (last edited 22 hours ago) (1 children)

Also, show me one scene in ‘Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter... and Spring’ or ‘Why Has Bodhi-Dharma Left for the East?’ where anyone does ‘intentional smiling’.

[–] bitjunkie@lemmy.world 0 points 17 hours ago

Why are you so butthurt about cheeriness?

[–] fyzzlefry@retrolemmy.com 6 points 1 day ago (2 children)

I enjoy smiling. I enjoy being happy.

[–] SlurpingPus@lemmy.world -3 points 23 hours ago* (last edited 22 hours ago) (1 children)

Oh yeah, USians are so happy. I open Reddit and Lemmy every day and see feeds full of USians chirping about how their lives are packed with happiness.

[–] bitjunkie@lemmy.world 1 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

Stop trying so hard, it's so cringe

[–] SlurpingPus@lemmy.world 0 points 16 hours ago* (last edited 16 hours ago) (1 children)

USian when they remembers what their country is called: “stop, it's cringe”.

[–] Mulligrubs@lemmy.world 2 points 16 hours ago* (last edited 16 hours ago) (1 children)

We know you're lashing out because you're powerless, it's cute

CARRY ON brave warrior

[–] SlurpingPus@lemmy.world 1 points 15 hours ago* (last edited 15 hours ago)

Lashing out? I'm not the one whining endlessly every single day on Reddit and Lemmy about the same problems after having elected a mentally ill pedofascist twice. And then being told to smile at my job.

[–] RaphaelSchmitz@feddit.org -2 points 1 day ago

Weird definition of "mandatory" you have

[–] starik@lemmy.today 31 points 1 day ago (2 children)

That’s the look of a man living life to the fullest

[–] bitjunkie@lemmy.world 1 points 17 hours ago

[–] adhdsergio@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago

I want a confirmed heartbeat on that, I've seen 60s Disney land animatronics with more liveness!
