unfortunately i see it way too often in this country, eventually you get deep enough to become unable to reject the absurdity, as it would mean acknowledging your own status as a slave

Makes sense. Cognitive dissonance. Hard to blame as noone really wants to admit he's basically just a slave with no option.

Although there is an option. Emigration. Be abetted treated slave elsewhere. But that probably also won't come to mind if you're already adamant you're in the greatest nation already 😑
