While this is a nice theory, even with traditional marketing like print and tv ads, it's always going to cost the company money.

Albo, in a minority government with the Greens. As an excellent video I watched recently pointed out, The Coalition has always been minority governments too, Labor & the Greens just need to point that out this time.

If it was going to be any year, and yes I know this is said a lot, it would be this year. With Win10 support ending, a bunch of Millennials are going to install it on their Boomer parent's computers. You have the German government installing it on every computer they run. Major companies like Lenovo releasing handhelds with it pre-installed.

What are you even talking about? 16GB is plenty for most people's laptop use cases. What was criminal was when the default was 8GB, but they seem to have stopped that now. In saying that, the pre-built Framework 12 starts at 8GB, though that's a lot less criminal when it's not soldered on.

Thank you! This is exactly what I came to the comments section to say.

Rather than vanilla Fedora KDE, maybe give Bazzite a go. It's Fedora KDE but focused on gaming with a bunch of nice additions. Plus it's immutable, so once everything's set up, it's pretty hard to break.

But you don't understand! Kamala supported a genocide in Gaza! We had to show her our disapproval by supporting the election of a man who not only wants Gaza wiped off the map, but also wants to commit domestic genocide against immigrants, PoC, trans people, political opponents. That wants to destroy the very rule of law itself. That'll show the Democrats!

I hope the /s is heavily fluffing implied! Sitting here in Australia, it has been surreal watching this all play out. I'm terrified for my friends and family in the US.

Aussie.zone is also fully supportive. I've had some great convos with the admins there, and they're good friends with the Blahaj admins, who are also aussie. Makes me really happy that my "local" instance is like that :3

It also just flies in the face of open-source, to use what was likely a closed-source image genAI to produce the image.

There are plenty of already existing images for this they could reuse. For example:

Article from January 2025:

The United States Health and Human Services Department (HHS) published a landmark report on intersex health equity last week, calling for an end to medically unnecessary non-consensual surgeries on children born with intersex variations.

The report, based on a literature review and listening sessions with intersex people, ethicists, and medical professionals, states that “the over 5 million intersex people in our nation deserve to live healthy and fulfilling lives free from stigma and discrimination.”

Children born with variations in their sex characteristics, sometimes called intersex traits, are often subjected to “normalizing” surgeries that are irreversible, risky, and medically unnecessary. Approximately 1.7 percent of people have an intersex trait, meaning intersex variations are not uncommon, but often misunderstood.

Genuinely amazed this managed to still be released under the current regime and wasn't buried. Directly goes against Trump's EO that there are only two sexes.

I just watched this official video from Framework that does a deep dive into their new desktop and the chip that powers it. Right near the end, CEO Nirav Patel name drops Bazzite as a distro partner, and declares 2025 the year of the Linux gaming desktop!

Hey, I just wanted to make a post because I noticed the [email protected] community now has no moderators at all. The one mod was instance banned. I think it would be good if we could have some admin intervention to install a new head moderator. I'm not personally feeling able to put my paw up for that, so if any other blahaj user is up for taking it on please comment here :)

I was banned from lemmy.world for “personal attacks” for 3 days because of calling someone a “piece of shit” after they called me a “cunt”. The comment calling me a cunt wasn’t removed and the user hasn’t been punished at all by the lemmy.world admins.

The comments in question:

Lemmy.world modlog:

In the interest of full disclosure, this is my other comment that was removed:

And here’s the comment of that user I was referencing, in the Blahaj modlog after it was removed:

This feels like an overreach, especially when the admin clearly didn’t feel it was important to punish their own user for “personal attacks” in the same thread.
