tbh even when he lived in nyc he never was a big culture guy, didn't collect art, etc. His interests were always in other places.

In part true. Canada keeps wanting to be the US's little brother and this doesn't help. Rather, I would like to see Canada get more tangible benefits such as easy moves, work, and education by it's participation in the commonwealth.
Some countries also have cheap in-country flights, unlike Canada. It's cheaper for us to travel Canada to Europe or Mexico than across our own country. This to me is a big problem. I'd like to travel more in my own country.

If it were a gun instead of a car with the same result the penalties would probably differ quite a bit. Both can be seen as lethal weapons. Hopefully the family files a civil case asking for millions to bankrupt the guy who hit the cyclist.
