Glad it wasn't just me. The animation and art style was phenomenal, but the stories and characters were severely lackluster for me. Even the Outer Worlds episode fell flat; it had a ton of potential and I really wanted to like it.

Apparently it was an arbitrary extra 50% on top of the recent 54%, which was the supposed trade deficit plus existing tariffs. I'm not saying it's not batshit, but the new figure wasn't a totally random specific number.

That might be the trend now, but the common plural before Tolkien was "dwarfs" for the mythical creature.

great(adj.)

Old English great "big, thick, stout, coarse" from West Germanic *grauta- "coarse, thick" (source also of Old Saxon grot)

(Trimmed for humor, but not otherwise changed).

You were right the first time - they're CRISPR-edited gray wolves engineered to exhibit the physical traits they found in dire wolf DNA.

There's an 80-gene difference between dire wolves and gray wolves, and they've modified 14 of what they felt to be the most variant differences.

It's still fascinating and tremendously difficult, and probably the best we can hope for in a very long time, but I don't feel Colossal are being totally honest in their presentation.

I don't know anything about insects and spiders, but maybe some sort of running crab spider, e.g. Philodromus cespitum?

The Crabtree effect is where Saccharomyces and Brettanomyces yeasts digest carbohydrates both anaerobically – producing ethanol, an antiseptic – and aerobically. Most yeasts in the presence of both sugar and oxygen prefer to only convert these to carbon dioxide and water, which is considerably more efficient but doesn't deter competitors for that sweet, sweet sugar.

Who knew botflies could be cute?

Description: an adult deer botfly (Cephenemyia stimulator) on a rock. Its body is covered with fur-like cetae, yellow and black, resembling a bumblebee a little. Its eyes are large and black.

Thanks for playing along with our April Fool's Day prank. We are, in fact, not pivoting to the Starfield engine.

We are, however, back on the very latest version of the Skyrim engine, thanks to some gruelling work by our Coding team, and of the Creation Kit, thanks in part to the CKPE team 💌

Now back to your regularly scheduled project updates. There's also more of the Concept-to-Asset video series on the horizon, and a bigger progress video is being worked on as we speak. Onwards and upwards! 🚀

After years of pouring love and dedication to recreating Morrowind in Skyrim's engine, we're reaching for the moon: we're shifting to Starfield's engine.

Say hello to Starwind! 🚀

  • Why walk when you can fly? Rocket boosted guars!
  • That's no moon(s)! Assemble your own interstellar silt strider.
  • The space race, now with 100% more cliff racers

Tamriel's vibrant and variant landscapes have been our home for years, a realm where our passion could roam as free as the nix hounds of Vvardenfell. ⁤⁤But as we looked up at the stars above, we saw the potential for magic far beyond what Skyrim's engine could offer. ⁤⁤Starfield's cutting-edge tech and vast cosmic canvas present us with the opportunity to reimagine Morrowind like never before.

We're grateful for your support, and we look forward to continuing on this journey with you, to the cosmos and beyond.

The Starwind Team ✨
