Does that allow travel before the eternal September?

You probably have some sort of sociopathic leanings, which you aren’t acting on (this is good) A severe disconnect from valuing other lives. This is a type of neurodivergence I think. I’m the kind of person who will risk getting stung by a wasp that’s found her way in my home rather than take a life, so I’m the other extreme perhaps.

I think learning about ecology would be the most “helpful” route for you. I think a lot about the beauty of finding 13+ ant species in a square meter - what that indicates about complex intertwining systems of life, and how beautiful that is. There’s an enthralling relationship between a certain type of tree in Africa and ants that leads to the ants protecting the tree, while the tree creates a place for the ants to live… the more you learn the more you realize how complicated this is, and how humans can never possibly understand this enough to intervene without fucking things up.

tfw old enough to remember the time Duke was the joke instead of Half Life 3

What scares me is that I’ve tried to hook multiple “geekier” teenagers on Linux, and they aren’t interested. Even the math-y ones don’t know the difference between an operating system and a browser. My main computer is Arch with xmonad and it disturbs and confuses them.

We have a lost generation when it comes to computers. Lots of the little geeks that would have been playing around in the registry or learning powershell 15 years ago are so stuck in walled gardens that they don’t even know there’s a world outside of them.

The tweaking isn’t in conversation, but I’m pretty sure they have gone and corrected for certain responses. Alex Jones was crowing about how it “knew” that men can’t get pregnant.

I was a trans teacher (stealth, students and teachers didn’t know), and I did have a few students tell me that they were trans.

I asked them if they wanted me to call them by a different name or use different pronouns, and told them I would support them if were mistreated by other staff or administration and wanted my help. Truly evil indoctrination.

Like, what matters to me is that that homework has a name I recognize and give a grade for. Teachers are way too fucking busy to be indoctrinating your kids, especially the ones in hell hole red states (feeder middle school had 100+ kids in some classrooms - I remember being at a PD when someone asked how to adopt the activity for a stranding room only classsroom….)

Also, I believe there’s a similar carve out for referring to women as “property.”

Most Romans weren’t citizens though.

God, imagine being so much of a fucker that you’re that dedicated to hating black people. This record is much better.

It’s fun to have some sort of ND condition where you are simultaneously too empathetic - altruistic to the point of self harm - but also read as cold and unfeeling because of facial expressions and vocabulary. It really teaches you that perceptions overwhelm reality.

If dating apps worked, they wouldn’t really “work” under capitalism - you’d find someone, cancel the subscription and move on.

The only really exception is if you focus on hookups or polyamory, but het cis women tend to risk a lot more on hookups (at bare minimum pregnancy and side effects related to whatever precautions are being used to prevent it), so they aren’t going to seek them out and they tend to get flooded with low quality messages anyway.

No matter what your age, race, gender, sex, size, you can always find a man willing to put their dick inside your orifices. Grindr works so well because it’s basically just old school cruising culture with extra frills. Match Group uses it’s monopoly to impose a dating culture that doesn’t really match with how het people form relationships.

They probably didn’t have sex. His big thing is IVF with women he pays essentially to be surrogates - sex selected. That’s why he’s so mad about his daughter transitioning.

He’s literally named after a character in a book by Werner von Braun that goes on to be a space emperor. He’s wanting his “superior” generic material to rule the world and future planets - that’s where all the delusional Mars shit comes into play for him.

Several boards down as of today.

This is a short little video game about three aliens on a dying world. It’s creepy and surreal in some ways, but it works as a metaphor for hope - it is something that I keep returning to with anxieties related to climate change.

Our three different aliens’ lives are dedicated to caring for children, learning new things, and personal expression through a game. Our scientist character accidentally triggers an apocalypse, and the world starts falling apart.

The beauty of the game is that the characters keep going. The last little “obstacle” course you do in the game has world bending black holes in it - you’re even told it’s dangerous but your little bug insists on playing anyway. What does it mean to “win” when the world is ending?

Like - there is no happy ending. The world will end, everyone dies. But while everyone is alive, there are things to do, thing to enjoy, things to celebrate.

Who’s your dream blunt rotation? I’m thinking Tamar, Jacob, and Balaam.

Mark Hamill voices Luke himself, the rest are mostly replacements. The guy who plays Han Solo sounds like a ProZD character.

Very cozy and you get tons of “slice of life” Mark Hamill being a naïve teenage Luke goofing off with his friends. It’s clearly before our favorite Maury moment, so you get a little bit of disconcerting Luke/Leia romance, but she sounds so different you can just pretend she’s an entirely different person.

Also - this was produced by NPR. Fucking awesome, we need to throw more money at them.

Katsu Kokichi was a samurai who died in 1850. (Musui is his “retirement name.”)

It’s a great little autobiography because he’s an obnoxious little shit and a massive failure. The translator’s prologue goes on about how the Japanese editor of the work had to do a ton of work to even make it readable, and there’s a ton of slang.

He runs away from home multiple times, gets into fights, and bullies people. He starts with a prologue that tries to say how he’s all Buddhist now, but really he was a dumbass who was constantly in hopeless debt.

It’s a very “human” primary source.

The first one is basically a good Yume Nikki clone. You’re wandering through the dreams of a girl who is being abused by her father. The ending, like Yume Nikki, is suicide. (You don’t have to play it to understand the series, tbh it’s better to just watch a YouTube long play)

LISA: The Painful is probably one of the best video games ever made. You have Earthbound style RPG mechanics, with “comical” status effects. The game mechanically simulates addiction in a way that makes sense - the gameplay aligns with the story telling. Playing without the drug “Joy” makes you feel the urge to take it, to make just this one battle better knowing the consequences.

There’s also so many complicated feelings about being a dad, and intergenerational trauma, and how in trying to protect those we love we can hurt them. It’s such a fucking deep and smart game - something that stands as art. I don’t understand why more people aren’t talking about the series or making more things that are truly like it.

I’m sure everyone is very excited that Zaum is putting out this shitty crash grab with the IP they stole.

The creator of Revachol can’t tell stories set there anymore, but private equity can profit off of it.

I don’t understand how Clone Wars season 3 goes from the amazing Savajj arc (how did Cartoon Network get away with airing that?) into this dorky shit. The monster designs look like rejected Pokémon box art legendaries.

It also just seems so weirdly inconsistent with lore.
