Most of the people I've introduced to Linux don't even use the shell. Beginner-friendly Linux distros are perfectly usable without ever touching a terminal, just as most people use Windows without ever touching PowerShell (or worse, the Registry Editor).

Also, make an account on OpenStreetMap (OSM), which is what Organic Maps uses for data. OSM is the Wikipedia of maps. You can use Organic Maps or any other OSM editor to add anything that's missing and correct anything that's wrong or out of date, then see your changes in the next map update.

KDE's fractional scaling is better than GNOME's after Plasma 6 was released, in my experience. While GNOME still requires some technical expertise to enable fractional scaling, KDE Plasma 6 supports it out of the box.

Since this laptop uses Plasma 6 on Wayland, I'm not sure why this reviewer chose to reduce the screen resolution instead of adjusting the scaling when both settings are right next to each other.

About the technical part, Signal uses the Signal Protocol instead of RCS. (Google also uses the Signal Protocol to encrypt some RCS messages in Google Messages, but the Signal Protocol and RCS are not the same thing.)

Make sure your rice isn't from Arkansas, Louisiana, or Texas, because rice from those states are contaminated with higher levels of arsenic.

Molly is a Signal client fork that uses UnifiedPush instead of Google's push notification service.

MapQuest uses OpenStreetMap data, so that may actually be true for areas where Google Maps has poor coverage.

That's incredibly disappointing. Vote here to signal the importance of a Linux client for Proton Drive. A Linux client is currently the top feature request for Proton Drive that has not yet been implemented.

Many translators for text in images work one line at a time and then adjust the font size to make the width of the translated text roughly the same as the width of the original text. The variation in font sizes reflects the variation in word lengths across different languages.

uBlock Origin on Firefox with the annoyances filters enabled takes care of that for me.

The paper does not recognize fluoride as a neurotoxin in its current application in Europe:

Overall, despite the remaining uncertainties, and based on the totality of evidence the present review does not support the presumption that fluoride should be considered as a human developmental neurotoxicant at current exposure levels in European countries.
