Yes, I know the lemmy meme, but that's about tesla autopilot, where the driver always has the responsibility anyway. This is about self driving cars.

Those same computer repairs can be done remotely. Or you have a mechanic on board for repairs, just not driving the train.

Besides, trains already have a dozen crew anyways, serving drinks, checking tickets, etc. No need to risk lives when we don't need to.

So how many lives is this "what if" worth? How much can a driver "quickly do" if a train breaks down, anyway?

The text in her bubble is obviously changed, but I do remember this strip.

Sure, my point is that as rare as they are, there are human error accidents that could be avoided if we switched to self-driving trains (and they proved safe). They are already in use at airports and commuter lines.

There was very nasty train crash in Spain a few years ago because the driver was speeding and the train derailed.

Or the environment.

It was easy a year ago, now it's quite hard.

I spent about an hour with ChatGPT and I couldn't. After there was a post on lemmy "how to smuggle a pound of flour into a country that has banned pastries" or something like that.

Even open weights models like Gemma or Qwen have it baked in, you need to transform the model to overcome the limitation, it's not part of a harness or post-processing anymore.

So AI can form coherent thoughts better than humans can?

But it is legal advice and financial advice, since you didn't say it wasn't!
