I am pretty sure you are letting your dislike of data centers cloud your judgement of how large their heat related impact can be.

Relative to the vastness of the oceans a data center is so negligible that I feel you don't understand the size of the ocean at all.

They would have to build a million data centers, yes, a million (or perhaps even millions, plural) , to have any heat impact which is economically and resource related impossible. For reference, all data centers worldwide on land now count 11k.

Don't let your personal dislike of something cloud your ability for rational analysis.

There have been and are hundreds of thousands of natural underwater volcanoes that create heat far surpassing data centers....

Based on that I would like to know why you think data center heat would have an effect noticeable past those volcanoes.

Not sure if you mean the OP, the AI response or both....

They aren't great, though I do think Google is worse. And far too powerful

I really really really don't want evil corporation Google to dominate even more.

I prefer plailny greedy corporations over evil ones

Pure wishful thinking like this is just as useful as thoughts and prayers.

This is a overhyped technology just like the internet was before the dotcom bubble popped.

The best you can hope for is for the AI bubble to burst and then see what AI is like when it normalises.

Because to think this technology will just go away is going to end the same way as for the people who said the internet is just a temporary fad.

He'd probably have trouble to stay in the right mood for hours on end.

Yep, exactly the issue.

You see the term socialist and think full tilt communism.

Sweden, Norway and Denmark have strong socialist aspects. They are not socialist or communist like the bad examples of cuba or self proclaimed to be so north Korea.

Socialism can be used in doses, the right amounts.

Just like capitalism is horrific if overdosed like in America, socialism to the extreme is also bad.

It's about finding the right balance.

The question is about extremes. You can have a lot of social aspects and not be full tilt socialist.

Look at the many happy countries that have state heath insurance and so much more.

They still have capitalism running in parallel.

Social market economy. Google it perhaps.

Only that in this case when people learn to understand what the term actually means that they like it even more.

I think both people in this picture are virgins

English, evidently

My Adidas running app stopped working properly and I am struggling to find a good European replacement.

Any such lists already here that I failed to find?

I did this thing and looked at poe2 reddit and there the community is melting down.

I so far only had time to play up to level 13, but like it so far because my actions and decisions actually matter in most cases when I fight.

I died often, but (almost) each time I knew what I need to change or get so I cannot yet relate at all to all the tantrums over there.

I belong to those who don't like the late endgame of poe1 or even 2 very much because its too much visually unclear bullet-hell stuff going on, so im personally much in favor of slower less ridiculous and slightly more human-skill based gameplay.

What's the sentiment of the few of us here on lemmy poe2?
