I've recently started working in a company that uses old tech, and there is a minor interest from me to actually follow the COBOL onboarding. It seems like a pretty cool language construct to know, alongside my years of OOP experiences with stuff like C# and Java.
And there are still courses being offered, as it's far from eradicated (although everyone wants it gone).
I really like Here maps. Hosted in Eindhoven, NL (apparently) and has cool stuff like panning when using spoken navigation, so "turn left" comes from the left speaker, which is something I would otherwise struggle with.

I've said this on reddit before, but once for a joke I tried to make a windows program to play doot.wav during October at random, and tried programming it on Linux.
Sinds playing audio and working with the system tray was tricky, I ended up with electron.
So yeah, an atrocious 120 mb application to play a 6kb wav file with a Math.random()
. I don't remember the memory consumption, but it was probably just as gross.
Eh, if you're careful and know what you're doing (e.g. Google stuff), it's effectively screws and copper. Nothing too special about it.
