Yeah it's mind boggling that some people would need to shame others for not meeting some arbitrary personal standards.

It's also such a ridiculous example too. Sometimes people do hide a lot of imperfections with makeup to a point in which you can't recognize them anymore - but this isn't the case. The photo on the right has a woman with perfectly healthy looking skin without makeup. She's frowning because the sunlight is hitting her right in the face and perhaps because she didn't consent to this picture being taken. Her hair is matted and backswept because she's been swimming. The photo quality is also much blurrier and it didn't have any kind of post treatment such as white balance to remove the blue light cast on her face. As for everything else, it's identical.

It's like a post saying look at how beta Superman looks while on his day job. Some dude wearing glasses and combing his hair the other way, you say? Not worthy of a look

TIL some guys would consider the girl on the right side not worthy of a look

Some already great suggestions in the comments, so to summarize: Have a look at Artststion, Deviantart, Cara, Instagram, LinkedIn, Fiverr, Tumblr.

Deviantart used to be really good for searching artists but not so much anymore. You'll have to wade through AI slop using mediocre search

Artstation and Instagram will probably get you the best results as most active artists are in either of the platforms if not both. You can search keywords for the style too, to some degree

And before you feel overwhelmed about all these social media platforms, remember you don't need to contact them, just find them. Any artist worth their salt will have some other means of contact such as a personal website, a work email or an account in a platform you can bear using.

Good luck out there.

I didn't know the blood got censored out too... Wow that's gotta be a lot. I knew of plenty of the sexual / dirty scenes with Bulma and Roshi, I knew of Mr Popo being turned blue in some places, but I didn't know the blood too

Evangelion has been on my list for too long, I just don't have time for anything in my life. So does each one have their own distinct personality, motivations etc? Are they actually characters or are they more like props?

I would say Winker nor Winkor but English isn't my first language so let's see what the consensus is for this matter.

Out of curiosity, (if you'd like to share), how old were you when you found out and how did you take it? Were you on board with it or did it feel weird?

Sentient, autonomous, giant fighter mechas.

So far the most popular franchise with this is Transformers, but most of their media is mediocre at best. There are some exceptions like a few of the comics and some of the series which are really good, but overall as a franchise they are lacking unfortunately. I really love the trope though.

The other franchise with this would be Bionicle but I can't say I know much about it.

There are plenty of mechas out there, but they don't tick all the boxes for this trope. Most are either non sentient or require a human pilot to be active. And those which are sentient and autonomous are rarely fighters.

So if you know of any - please let me know. Thanks.

Ah yes so alpha male. And this is on top of all the money he made

I hate it. And this is the right place to rant about it, right? I don't mind people confusing your and you're, or then for than, but when I read "seperate" my eyes cringe. It's painful.

AAAAAAAGH

WHY.

:( fuck it

A few minutes ago two accounts on lemmy.ml started spamming pretty much every community on the instance with some crypto mining trash.

Moderators also noticed because all those posts are gone now, good job btw. Then I remembered, wait, doesn't .ml have an application process to filter spam and bots? Out of curiosity, I went to have a look at the users profiles and both accounts were about two years old, with no activity.

Are these hacked accounts? Is that an easy thing to do? And how can one prevent it from happening?

Was considering to get a grid mat, large- at least A2 or so - of those you can write and erase. After searching online I found few options, and they're a bit pricey.

Any recommendations? I don't need anything fancy. Just a large laminated grid that can be rolled up. Thanks

So I've been working in retail for a while and seen my share of odd and rude customers, but today I had my very first "Karen", and he was american also. (I'm not, and I'm in Australia).

The store I work for doesn't give their bags for free, we charge for them. This guy picked an online order and then threw up a tantrum and demanded to speak to a manager when I refused to give him a bag for free. Another team member (more experienced) just gave him the bag and he just left.

That does it I guess, but it's giving in to rude demands what sustains this kind of behavior imo. I'm not trying to protect the interests of the corporate I work for- it's just a stupid bag ffs, perhaps ask nicely? I've been called off both for giving away bags for free before as well as calling for the manager to deal with "minor issues".

So I'm asking, in general, how do you deal with these types of customers?

Clearly I haven't shot anything irl ever and don't know much about weapons either. Oh and relax, I'm not planning on shooting anyone.

Question comes after videogames, which can sometimes have both weapon types used interchangeably and/or behaving in a similar way.

I would personally believe guns are easier, and that the only advantage a bow would ever have is that they're not as noisy. But I hear people say aiming with a bow is easier. I guess the type of bow and gun used would also weigh on the matter?

Crosspost... Well I can't crosspost apparently, my apologies

You guys did great with your Christmas predictions last time so I'm counting on your help

In any way you know of. I find people here are more aware of politics and ethics behind big companies and this is what prompted my question but I'm also curious about any other differences.

I'm in Australia and I've only used Ebay and AliExpress so far. I find AliExpress has more variety and somewhat cheaper prices but I don't know why or anything else.

When I first heard about Temu it was always in relation to dodgy products and sex toys so I didn't pay much attention to it, however lately I keep hearing about people buying regular stuff without issues. Never tried it myself though.

Please help so I can do my groceries properly in advance, thanks

So I accidentally turned backup on with my butt or something the other day, and Google Photos decided it was fine to upload to the cloud all my photos which I keep locally on my device.

I don't need or want cloud backup, thanks very much, and I didn't enjoy having to research how to delete all the images from the cloud while keeping them in my device, and enjoyed even less then doing all of that manually.

Zero out of five stars, I did not enjoy and would not recommend.

Now, can you recommend a free app that lets me browse and manage my own personal local collection of images? My preference is for something with an intuitive, easy to use interface. What are y'all lemmings using?
