I mainly thought about voice/video calls, for many people they are fundamental features. You can add jitsi to your profile, but why would someone bother if, everything works out of the box in WhatsApp.
- You can't talk with anyone, because no one uses your preferred FOSS, privacy respecting app.
- You try to convince people who don't care about privacy to use some obscure app, with higher learning curve, and lack of features to comunicate just with one person.
You can suceed in some cases, but it's not as simple, as just downloading privacy respecting app.
