You're defending the instance that said and supported "France deserves 1000 Charlie Hebdos?" From @jai.lai or whatever your french instance is called?

Ok, well have fun with that.

"look the other way"

...my dude, same team, but ffs they are not "looking the other way," this is how they want it, they fully support this, this is why they made lemmy, they got censored on reddit and came here so they can ~~be the censors themselves~~ have freedom of speech. Dessalines and Nutomic designed .ml like this and it will 100% never change, I'm just glad they were dumb enough to make it decentralized so they can't control more than their bubble as much as they want to.

I think a good portion of the people complaining have never touched DOS, maybe CMD once or twice with a tutorial online (which sounds a whole lot like some stackexchange user teaching me about bluez, but this is scarier because they were told linux hard.)

If I can't be expected to remember sudo dnf update -y why would I be able to remember a whole ass recipe, or how to care for plants, or how to change my oil? There's no GUI to tell me how much nitrogen my soil needs, I can't be expected to learn anything!

It's always going to feel like this even if you never need a terminal for one simple reason:

When you google "how to XX on linux," you're going to find a stackexchange page where someone else asked, and someone answered with a terminal command instead of "Ok what DE are you using? Ok, so you're gonna want to click these seventeen different menu options, and I don't remember them without looking at them myself." It's just always going to be easier to send someone a string of ~30char to type than to try and figure out their GUI without screensharing.

Just look at those two making Hey! Hey! in the moonlight while the monster lurks in the shadows.

I want a pack.

Ya feet smell lurid.

Well look it up.

Sorry but this is incorrect. They get deleted before they could ever get that many comments!

Haha .ml sucks.

The eldritch guy from The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy?

0
Night of the Living Cat (www.penguinrandomhouse.com)

Not usually a manga guy but the one I read just recently dropped chapter 5 in english. It's exactly what you think, zombie parody but the zombies are adorable kitties and hard to resist, but if you snuggle one you become a cat yourself!

I even got sick of zombie stuff in like 2008, but the two exceptions are this here manga and a live action Japanese film that will go unnamed. Both are just so funny they get a pass.

New list is up!

FML #1 - "Genre bending," "Metal kids," "apocalypse." Alrighty then, I'll check it out.

One For Sorrow #1 - DSTLRY is an easy sell to me, and this looks pretty neat. 1900 london, criminals getting murdered by a mysterious figure dubbed The Magpie due to the feathers left on corpses.

I Hate Fairyland #17 - Aww shit, Happy's back.

Sacrificers #12 - Sacrificers rules!

Cruel Universe #4 - I'm one behind on this actually but I'll keep it going.

That's it for me, what's on your list?

New list is up! Sorry I'm a day later than usual lol, busy week so far already!

Batman The Long Halloween The Last Halloween #2 - Na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na BAT-MAN!

It Happened On Hyde Street Devour #1 - The only horror book that looks good to me coming out this week, a day before Halloween no less. Seems they all came out last week lol. Hyde St #1 was great though, so I'm sold. Sad state of affairs. At least Creepshow Vol 3 is underway!

Come Find Me an Autumnal Offering - Looks interesting.

Deadpool Team-Up #3 - Deadpool & Dragons has been ok so far.

That's it for me this week, real light one! What's on your pull lists?

New list is up! Some good stuff for me this week it looks like,

Termite Mound #1 - I'll look at it if my shop has it, looks weird, I know nothing but the cover.

DC Horror Presents #1 - Not huge on the whole DC verse but do love horror, may look at this too.

From The DC Vault Death In The Family Robin Lives #4 - I do like Batman though sometimes!

Creepshow Volume 3 #2 - Creepshow is what Epitaphs of the Abyss wishes it could be. I wish they'd just make it an ongoing rather than seasonal but as long as they keep making them with some regularity I won't complain.

Moon Is Following Us #2 - #1 was interesting, seems to be about basically a kid who got Matrixed into their own dreams and can't get out, and the parents have to enter the kid's dreamworld and adventure-to-rescue.

Nullhunter #1- "NULLHUNTER is a kinetic cyberpunk retelling of the Labors of Hercules." Huh, neat, I'll bite.

Universal Monsters Frankenstein #3 - I love the old Universal films, and this comic has been doing them justice.

That's it for me, what's on your lists this week?

YESSSS! It's coming!!

New list is up! Not toooo many for me this week.

From The World Of Minor Threats Barfly #3 - Ayyy Shiteater is back! This series is pretty good

Batman And Robin Year One #1 - Batman eh? Ok.

Batman Full Moon #1 - Werebatwolfman? Or Bat V Wolf? Guess I gotta find out.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles The Last Ronin II Re-Evolution #3 - Turtles for adults is soooo gooood. Need more!

Falling In Love On The Path To Hell #5 - Well y'all already knew this was on the list, I can't shut up about this series.

Epitaphs From The Abyss #4 - Last one was ok, I'll get this one. Creepshow is so much better though.

That's it for me, what're you picking up?

Hello lemmy's !music consortium. I was wondering if anyone could help me with this song, and being that it's lemmy, I'm assuming "probably." I've been looking for this song since Metro 2033 (game) came out, and I finally found it just now! It's sung by a guard right before you watch how Unkle Bourbon "works." (I had already found Гоп Стоп by Aleksander Rosenbaum). I didn't know where else to post this, being that it is music I came here, hope that's ok.

Now the issue is I'm a little lost on the historical context, and I was hoping one of the .mls out there who may have a bit more knowledge of the russian civil war could shed some light on it because to be frank I know nothing about it.

It seems to be a Cossack song, and anti Bolshevik? I translated the ru.wiki.whatever page and it seems to suggest the writers are a couple of punks with cool ass nicknames like "solid" and "not good" that pulled lyrics from a couple historical tunes, and that there was a 4th verse in the OG that is now oft omitted much to the chagrin of those authors, who call it "white guard pink snot" or something, what the hell does that mean?! Is the song supposed to be just generally anti-communist or is it...well...idk, really any insight into this tune would be much appreciated. Like I said I don't know much, I basically know the "reds" are the Bolsheviks and that's it.

New list is up! Come and get it! Let's see, for me...

Minor Arcana #2 - Jeff Lemire rules. Minor Arcana is good so far.

Groo Minstrel Melodies #2 - I didn't know Groo was still around until issue #1!

Batman Gotham By Gaslight The Kryptonian Age #5 - Been pretty good so far.

Life #2 - I'll be honest I still haven't read #1, I'm slacking.

Space Ghost #6 - Space Ghoooost! Can't wait until he gets booked on the talk show. Looks like Moltar is about to show up!

Geiger #7 - Super FalloutMan has been good, I'll keep going

Precious Metal #5 - I'm a little behind on this too but it's ok, I like the art a lot.

Looks like that's it for me this week, what's on your lists?

New list is up! Looks like a decent one..

Minor Arcana #1 - Honorable mention, this one is getting a second print. I'm all in so far with just #1. A woman returns from the city to her hometown, in part because of her failures, and in part because her mom is sick. Her mom runs a Tarot shop, the daughter thinks it's all bullshit scams but ends up running the shop and it turns out maybe it's not all bullshit after all, seems like she'll be talking to her sapphic old love from high school shortly.

Plastic Man No More #2 - Yeah I like Plastic Man now, he's funny!

Falling In Love on the Path To Hell reprints #1, 2, 3 - Most honorable mention. Image now bills this as "your favorite new ongoing" and I think they're right (because Beneath The Trees Where Nobody Sees isn't an ongoing...yet?...but anyway), it's damn good! Basically a Cowboy man and a Samurai woman wash up on the beach in purgatory after dying at the same time, and honestly I don't want to give away any more than that, it's fucking good. One of my favorite colorists too, Chris O'Hallorhan, who does Ice Cream Man.

Hyde Street #1 - Ghost Machine's (Geiger, Redcoat, Rook: Exodus) newest offering. I'll check it out for sure, since it's horror, but I'm not gonna lie the only thing I'm following is Geiger so far so we'll see.

I Hate Fairyland #16 - Yup! New arc!

Cruel Universe #3 - Cruel Universe is great! Honestly scarier than their horror offering so far, however Epitaphs #3 was pretty good!

That's it for me, what are you getting this week?

My Bad Escape From Peculiar Island #5 - Last one in this dumb ass series lol, why not.

Helen Of Wyndhorn #5 - This series has been good, I kinda hope it gets picked up.

Batman The Long Halloween The Last Halloween #1 - I guess I'm going to pick this up, but I haven't read the first series.

Lobo Cancellation Special #1 - Idk much about Lobo but this looks alright.

Creepshow Volume 3 #1 - It's here! The first two were so good! Need more. MORE!

Drawing Blood #6 - Tbh I've been slacking on this one but I'm still picking it up, I'll get to it.

Universal Monsters Frankenstein #2 - Really dug the first one, I'll keep picking this up.

Dick Tracy #5 - Dick Tracy rules! I need to buy a yellow trenchcoat for no reason.

Deadpool Team-Up #2 - Deadpool & Dragons™ I guess. Pretty weird but I'm giving it a shot. I'm not usually into marvel but I do like old Deadpool (and & Cable) and I think I'm gonna pick up whatever Deadpool Liefeld does, probably not any other stuff though (though I heard Scott Aukermann wrote one and I would like to find that lol).

Looks like that's it for me! Fucking hyped about Creepshow! What're you guys picking up?

Howdy partners, got a weird western y'all might want to partake in here.

Falling In Love On The Path To Hell is a new ongoing comic series being released by Image Comics currently. Issue #4 came out last week, and reprints of 1, 2, and 3 are coming out next Wednesday (10/02/2024). If you're looking for physical copies, here's a site that will help you find your nearest local comic book stores.

The basic story so far, is MacRaith (that handsome devil up front with two Colt Navy 1851 revolvers) and Asami (that beautiful Samurai in the background) die, and wash up with the corpse tide on the shores of Purgatory. They're "alive" however, and get recruited to fight the hordes of hell (who come out every night when the river Styx dries up) by a strange Sikh named Mohan (that feller there with the sun for an eye). Things, however, may not be as they seem, nor how they're presented by Mohan, time will tell...

Content warning: Mature Audiences only. "Sexual violence" has been (almost, it was prevented) depicted already.

New list is up! Let's see what we got this week..

Graveyard Club #1 - R. L. Stein, let's go!

Batman Day 2024 - Batman Elmer Fudd Special Noir #1 - What in the fuck is this? I'll have to get it, it's too insane not to.

Batman Day 2024 Batman The Long Halloween #0 - Heard this Long Halloween series rules, I need to read it, hopefully it gets a reprint about nowish..

Batman Day 2024 Batman The Long Halloween #1 - Well we're part way to a reprint, but I need all of em!

Beneath The Trees Where Nobody Sees TP - Alright I'm probably not picking this up because I have both the A and B covers of all the singles (not my usual MO), but I'm adding it as an honorable mention because if you don't have it yet you should 100% check this out at least. It's basically cute Richard Scarry style art with anthropomorphic animals, but the lead character is a serial killer. Huge problems arise in her world, can she stop it or not? I won't say, you'll have to read it to find out. I hope this gets picked up for more issues more than anything else out right now.

Falling In Love On The Path To Hell #4 - This series rules so far! Glad it's an ongoing now.

Ice Cream Man #41 - The series responsible for getting me into comics in the first place. It's like a sad song you can't stop listening to, or a bruise that you can't stop poking, it's depressing but so good. I like how they play with the format, like the issue that was a crossword puzzle, and the one that was all palindromes and could be read both front to back and back to front. This one looks to be a James Bond parody.

Moon Is Following Us #1 - I know nothing about this but it looks interesting.

Tin Can Society #1 - Might pick this up, the cover is intriguing.

Epitaphs From The Abyss #3 - Well issue 2 was better, but it's still no Creepshow. I'll continue it for one more at least. Looks like there's two new EC titles coming out soon too, a new SuspenStories and a new Weird Fantasy, both called something else but similar, of course.

Looks like that's it for me, what're you pulling this week?
