This is a strange case, we definitely need more details to know if the driver was justified or just insane.

8. Misinformation is prohibited.
Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.
9. No link shorteners.
The auto mod will contact you if a link shortener is detected, please delete your post if they are right.
10. Don't copy entire article in your post body
For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

It's Florida, so it's probably a little of both.
regardless if he was justified or not, if the gun belongs to him, hes going to get in trouble regardless since bus drivers arent supposed to have guns.
so regardless the story, the driver is going to have some varying levels of punishment. finding out what happen just decides severity
That’s less a legal issue and more of an employment issue.
If the situation was justified, losing his job beats the alternative possibility. If it was not justified losing his job is going to be the least of his issues.
It's not illegal for him to have a gun. It was his employer who had a rule against it. In Florida you can conceal carry with NO permit as long as you are legally allowed to own a firearm.
There's definitely a recording inside the bus but I'm gonna go ahead and guess it was justified
