Welcome to the News community!

Rules:

1. Be civil

Attack the argument, not the person. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on.

2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.

Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.

3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.

Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.

4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.

Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Clickbait titles use hyperbolic language and do not accurately describe the article content. When necessary, post titles may be edited, clearly marked with [brackets], but may never be used to editorialize or comment on the content.

5. Only recent news is allowed.

Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.

6. All posts must be news articles.

No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, blogs, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.

7. No duplicate posts.

If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.

8. Misinformation is prohibited.

Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.

9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.

All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.

10. Don't copy entire article in your post body

For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

The first fighter jet to randomly drop elements of the aircraft on the enemy before jettisoning the pilot and crashing into a friendly.

Now, I wouldn't say the first... There was the F-104 Starfighter.

spoilerAnd, yes, if you've ever seen MST3k, it was that one.

The lawn dart.

Even the Germans called it The Widowmaker.

Ah, a perfect choice for kamakaze planes, Boeing is the leader of deadly aircraft, right?

We've given an order for a lot. We can't tell you the price,

Goddamn, that's all we needed to do. Biden orders a shit ton of solar panels and batteries and then just say "nah, I'm not going to tell you the price."

Any Democrat not on this "I'm not saying" budget plan just needs to GTFO of Congress yesterday. Who needs power of the purse when you can just say "make me" when Congress asks you to follow the law?

Wasn't he badmouthing Boeing like a week ago because they couldn't get the new air force one built on time?

Boeing's Representative: "Sir, that's going to take a long time even under ideal conditions."

This country is full of the biggest fucking cucks of all time. And I hate using that word, but it's accurate in this case.

It took less than two months for these "don't tread on me" patriots to completely throw away every single value they ever claimed to care about in the name of a non-American billionaire. It's fucking pathetic.

I know it's an old refrain, but I think it's important to think about sometimes... just imagine what the right would do if a Democrat did even a fraction of what this administration has done since January 20. We would be in the middle of an all out civil war if they even talked about doing the kind of shit that's being done right now (and how it's being done).

Odds are that airplane will never fly

The technology behind this will power Trump's slush fund for years to come however

Today’s Boeing: “The quality goes in before the name goes on” /S

watch the Netflix documentary ‘Downfall: The Case Against Boeing’ to see how Boeing’s product quality has fallen since corporate folks took over from the engineers

[–] meco03211@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Unless you were intending the subtle joke, you should include the full title "Downfall: The Case Against Boeing." There's a movie about Hitler with an iconic scene that's been memed heavily named simply "Downfall."

[–] griff@lemmings.world 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

thanks for that—will try editing post for clarification

I saw someone call it the felon-47 and thought that was pretty good

I think that this haze gray stuff is getting passé in an era of beyond-visual-range combat. I'm thinking an orange paint job on this one.

[–] JohnDClay@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Is it still beyond visual range if you can't detect it on radar until it's 100ft away?

[–] Pyr_Pressure@lemmy.ca 6 points 1 year ago

I'm surprised Musk didn't tell Boeing that it needs to be named the F-69 if they want the contract

[–] tiefling@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 1 year ago

Can they collaborate with Tesla?
