Supervillain origin story if I've ever heard one

[–] qjkxbmwvz@startrek.website 17 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago)

Sounds like it was a 2 petawatt pulsed laser, with picosecond pulses, so 2kJ/pulse. Staggering amount of power and energy for a pulsed laser!

Note that it's not CW, so the average power will be much, much, much less than the pulsed power. Too lazy to find the rep rate to see average power.

[–] ininewcrow@lemmy.ca 13 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Gets angry and lies himself on top of a high powered sniper rifle

[–] Nasan@sopuli.xyz 9 points 10 months ago

That's a pretty niche role, a position as part of the laser grid at a museum is much more steady

[–] shoulderoforion@fedia.io 11 points 10 months ago

just look at the guy, all he wanted to do was an honest days lazing for an honest days pay, was that too much to ask

[–] sgbrain7@lemm.ee 9 points 10 months ago

I know he'll prove those guys wrong some day

[–] kewko@sh.itjust.works 1 points 10 months ago
