wow... i had to read that 3 times before i found the instrument....

english is my first language...

[–] starman2112@sh.itjust.works 8 points 2 years ago

Ditto

First read was a normal read. Second read, I thought the joke was that there wasn't an instrument. I had to come to the comments before I saw it lmao

This joke makes me want to commit violins

[–] MacNCheezus@lemmy.today 9 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Sounds like you got a trombone to pick

[–] retrolasered@lemmy.zip 8 points 2 years ago

Kick him in the pianist

[–] Haaveilija@lemmy.world 4 points 2 years ago

Do you feel violated?

[–] gofsckyourself@lemmy.world 15 points 2 years ago

I feel like it would work better if it wasn't the first or last word. Just fiddle around with different words, and viola!

[–] Dagnet@lemmy.world 12 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I noticed right away, thanks to my ASD super power I guess

[–] x4740N@lemm.ee 3 points 2 years ago (3 children)

I have autism and I didn't notice that

[–] Dagnet@lemmy.world 5 points 2 years ago (1 children)

That's why its a spectrum, we are not all the same

AuADHD reporting in. I got caught re-reading the first part for a while trying to figure out what neat thing about free-reed instruments was going on, before eventually reading to the end and realizing that its presence was the joke.

[–] Dagnet@lemmy.world 3 points 2 years ago

More or less my experience!

[–] someacnt@sh.itjust.works 2 points 2 years ago

Same, where are our powers

[–] NeoNachtwaechter@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago

I haven't noticed my own autism too.

[–] Noel_Skum@sh.itjust.works 11 points 2 years ago (1 children)

That’s a decent joke.

Can anyone trump it?

[–] tias@discuss.tchncs.de 2 points 2 years ago

If only the people who voted were decent

[–] NeoNachtwaechter@lemmy.world 10 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I noticed it immediately, but then I took it for an honest typo until I had read it all.

Gone was the fun.

[–] retrolasered@lemmy.zip 2 points 2 years ago

I didnt notice the second one. I feel silly

Ever had sax on phone?

[–] Pregnenolone@lemmy.world 9 points 2 years ago

Reading this on my shamisen from Tokyo to Kyoto

I don't think it can be that piano to trick people.

[–] RandomVideos@programming.dev 6 points 2 years ago

When seeing this post and all the comments that continue the joke, the first thing i read is the musical instrument. I look at the text, see the replaced word and then go to the first word to actually read it

When reading the post, i also spent a bit rereading the first part, triangle to understand what it means until realizing its just a typo

[–] Sabre363@sh.itjust.works 6 points 2 years ago (1 children)

As one cursed with an illiterate fuckwit for a brain-hole, any word can be either a random musical instrument or summon a demon, like fun little Schrodinger surprises. Just kinda gotta roll with it after a while

[–] tigolbitties@sh.itjust.works 1 points 9 months ago

Sometimes both!

[–] callyral@pawb.social 5 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I don't guitar you can clavichord any random word with an instrument.

[–] EnsignWashout@startrek.website 1 points 9 months ago* (last edited 9 months ago)

Sure you harpsichord! Anyone harpsichord do it!

[–] muntedcrocodile@lemm.ee 5 points 2 years ago

Fuck, I'm 9 out of 10 people.

[–] Clent@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 2 years ago (2 children)

This only works because accordion is close according, not because they sound alike which is what everyone is attempting in these comments.

This is similar to the phenomena that allows jumbled words to be read, it's about context clues not puns.

[–] NeoNachtwaechter@lemmy.world 0 points 2 years ago

You very smartphone.

[–] BeatTakeshi@lemmy.world 4 points 2 years ago

Bruce Springsteen aka the bass would agree

[–] GeorgimusPrime@lemmy.world 4 points 2 years ago

Not to talk of when you replace first names with random aquatic creatures

[–] ech@lemm.ee 3 points 2 years ago

Explicitly not "random", but admittedly funny.

[–] MissJinx@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago

More like can't see without glasses and only look lemmy in my bed at night. I onlu see 30%

[–] CCF_100@sh.itjust.works 2 points 2 years ago

I noticed it :p

[–] AI_toothbrush@lemmy.zip 2 points 2 years ago

I was loooking at it for like 2 minutes. How the hell do you mispell it that way. Then i thought it was autocorrect. Then i read the rest...
