I've never done shrooms / psilocybin. Only acid and 2C-B.

But looking at common dosages for it, I don't think I would have understood the concept of an office on 100 mg. That is about 6 times a normal dose.

However, I would never think of wasting a good trip at the office. Seems like a double negative

EDIT: the dosages were referring to the chemical psilocybin, as that was what the post I replied to used. It was not about 0.1g of shrooms. Also mushrooms come in different strengths, depending on a lot of factors, including the species itself. Sorry for any confusion

A normal dose of a regular cubensis (your average shroom) is 1-2g dried. 0.1g is a tenth of the "small"/"safe" dose so even with potent shrooms that should be a microdose. Just a heads up!

It sounds to me like the original comment and the guy saying 6x the dose are talking about the pure chemical substance whereas the others are talking about the dried plant.

"should have" is always a strong phrase with drugs, people react to drugs in different ways and placebo can be powerful too. People I know have taken 0.4g to feel practically nothing (perhaps even slight drowsiness) while others took 0.2 per person with friends and reported a WILD experience. I personally have my doubts but who am I to tell them what they experienced? They're definitely outliers though.

All that to say 0.1g (or 100mg) is definitely a microdose, at least with your typical dried magic mushrooms. Can't comment on their experience!

Eh, probably has to a bit with the mushroom itself - how it was grown, handled, dried, age, and stored - as much as it does with the individual consuming it.

Sort of? Most cubensis strains are relatively similar in their potency (which is where the 1-2g comes from), if dried or consumed incorrectly it'd tend towards being less effective, not more. For example, heat can start to destroy the psilocybin in the mushrooms so drying them in the oven will just destroy the effectiveness.

There are some types of shrooms that are, for example, 2-4x more potent than your typical cubensis but unless you're foraging without knowledge (really wouldn't recommend that), you have to know what they are to find them if that makes sense. But I was mainly trying to correct the comment above mine because 0.1g is not 6x more powerful than a normal dose of any mushrooms that I know of.

Big part I think depends on the quality of the shrooms themselves. When I grew my own, 1-2 g of dried was about equivalent to a decent 50 mg THC edible experience, with minor visual enhancements. 3-4 g is where I started to get some of those more fun things, experimenting with approaching ego death.

I tend to have very high tolerance for psychedelics though. Half of my lemmy comments have been made under the influence of 100 mg + THC.

Yeah, top comment says they had a crazy trip on 0.1g which was supposedly “x” times the normal dose. Next comment states that normal is 1-2g, and 0.1g (100mg as you said) is indeed microdosing.

I’m just trying to figure out the math, but it’s not a big deal. I don’t consume anyway.

I've done 2C-I (which I assume is close to 2C-B).

The visuals are much different from shrooms, I was fully hallucinating on 2C-B, I saw creatures which weren't real, like giant smiling black worms crawling up the corner of the room, and a deer which galloped inside my head.

I'm glad I could remind myself I was just tripping, or else I would've freaked out.

On shrooms, everything had extreme rainbow chromatic aberration.

Go to some jam markets and walk past the fruit stalls to the guy who makes the mushroom pâté. Ask him where his son or daughter is. Follow them into a van or a shack.

I dont know anything about it, but apparently there is not a completely legal way to get a sample of spores that totally aren't useable to grow your own and there are not plenty of instructions on how to do it online. Certainly do not look it up.

Unfortunately I wouldn't have the physical space and/or stable conditions to do something like that since I am somewhat of a nomad. That is of course, hypothetically speaking because I don't know anything and I didn't look anything up.
