I saw only panel 1 (just the title in a box). I thought it was brilliant. Like, the first comment would be "that's not funny." and response would be "you are correct." then i realized there were more panels. either way it works.
Comic Strips
Comic Strips is a community for those who love comic stories.
Rules
-
😇 Be Nice!
- Treat others with respect and dignity. Friendly banter is okay, as long as it is mutual; keyword: friendly.
-
🏘️ Community Standards
- Comics should be a full story, from start to finish, in one post.
- Posts should be safe and enjoyable by the majority of community members, both here on lemmy.world and other instances.
- Any comic that would qualify as raunchy, lewd, or otherwise draw unwanted attention by nosy coworkers, spouses, or family members should be tagged as NSFW.
- Moderators have final say on what and what does not qualify as appropriate. Use common sense, and if need be, err on the side of caution.
-
🧬 Keep it Real
- Comics should be made and posted by real human beans, not by automated means like bots or AI. This is not the community for that sort of thing.
-
📽️ Credit Where Credit is Due
- Comics should include the original attribution to the artist(s) involved, and be unmodified. Bonus points if you include a link back to their website. When in doubt, use a reverse image search to try to find the original version. Repeat offenders will have their posts removed, be temporarily banned from posting, or if all else fails, be permanently banned from posting.
- Attributions include, but are not limited to, watermarks, links, or other text or imagery that artists add to their comics to use for identification purposes. If you find a comic without any such markings, it would be a good idea to see if you can find an original version. If one cannot be found, say so and ask the community for help!
-
📋 Post Formatting
- Post an image, gallery, or link to a specific comic hosted on another site; e.g., the author's website.
- Meta posts about the community should be tagged with [Meta] either at the beginning or the end of the post title.
- When linking to a comic hosted on another site, ensure the link is to the comic itself and not just to the website; e.g.,
✅ Correct: https://xkcd.com/386/
❌ Incorrect: https://xkcd.com/
-
📬 Post Frequency/SPAM
- Each user (regardless of instance) may post up to five (5 🖐) comics a day. This can be any combination of personal comics you have written yourself, or other author's comics. Any comics exceeding five (5 🖐) will be removed.
-
🏴☠️ Internationalization (i18n)
- Non-English posts are welcome. Please tag the post title with the original language, and include an English translation in the body of the post; e.g.,
Sí, por favor [Spanish/Español]
- Non-English posts are welcome. Please tag the post title with the original language, and include an English translation in the body of the post; e.g.,

🍿 Moderation
- We are human, just like most everybody else on Lemmy. If you feel a moderation decision was made in error, you are welcome to reach out to anybody on the moderation team for clarification. Keep in mind that moderation decisions may be final.
- When reporting posts and/or comments, quote which rule is being broken, and why you feel it broke the rules.
Banned Artists
The following artists are banned from the community.
- Jago
- Stonetoss
- GPrime85
It should be noted that when you make reports, it is your responsibility to provide rational reasoning why something should be removed. Saying it simply breaks community rules is not always good enough.
Web Accessibility
Note: This is not a rule, but a helpful suggestion.
When posting images, you should strive to add alt-text for screen readers to use to describe the image you're posting:
Another helpful thing to do is to provide a transcription of the text in your images, as well as brief descriptions of what's going on. (example)

Sorry. Typically I post the 4 panel versions when artists do the combined uploads, but this one didn’t have that and I usually try to respect the medium and titles the artists give to their work. I thought about giving this one a couple different titles but ultimately settled on leaving the authors comment as is. As the content would be upsetting for many readers I decided to bury the main content in a spoiler warning to avoid a NSFW tag and respect the original post.
Don't be sorry, this way was so much more impactful.
Some of the things I've seen people saying about Jane Doe are truly vile. The mental gymnastics people will go through in order to victim blame are disgusting. I especially cannot stand it when I see other women putting down survivors. I hope Jane Doe gets justice and the coverup has consequences.
I downloaded a photo of the Cornell 7 last night and Google Photos immediately removed it. It's still sitting in a folder but won't show up in Google Photos. I'm curious if anyone can reproduce this. The lengths they go to censor survivors and protect perpetrators is unacceptable.
- Get on grapheneOS or Linux ASAP.
perps

I am going to preemptively say that if you decide to comment and say anything remotely victim-blaming or stir up any drama against the artist or fellow community members, your comments will be removed, up to and including being banned.
Please consider using the spoiler markdown if you feel the need to go into detail.
Some title suggesting Trigger Warning (TW)
<your experience>
We are all adults here, and can objectively (AND RESPECTFULLY) have difficult conversations when needed. Not everyone has the same experiences, nor the same reactions, and their traumas are very real regardless of what you may see or know about them.
I'm surprised I got here before the pizza cake haters.
Woman told Cornell investigators she 'felt like bait' during alleged gang rape
JFC, this is the first I've heard of this story. Shit like this is why all frats need banned from every university. They're all shit
Is Pizza Cake a controversial artist? Genuine question, because I personally haven’t seen any strips that would make me dislike her. But I also only see the ones that get upvoted on Lemmy.
I guess there will be some chuds who dislike comics like this one, which clearly advocate for something. But that’s pretty standard chud behavior, not limited to any one specific artist.
No she's just a bad artist with a worse personality
She's visibly female on the internet, so yeah, chuds
She got accused of misandry for a particular comic and then a lot of misogynists jumped on board. I don't think she's like the funniest ever, but definitely doesn't deserve as much hate as she gets IMO. Lemmy is better about her than reddit for sure.
Better, sure. Free of the idiots who think they shouldn't ever see a popular comic they don't like in their feed, no.
It's milquetoast pandering to help sell explicit stuff. No reason to hate, but I'm not a huge fan either.
There are worse things in the world than being a little bland.
Does the artist do porn commissions or something? I haven’t seen any comics from them that were more explicit than every other webcomic ever made.
I recently realized she has an only fans, not for porn comics but for regular porn featuring herself. It's as milquetoast as her comics I guess.
In the situation portrayed, the guys committing the SA know that they're doing something evil. The victim knows what happened.
I'm not sure why anybody with zero knowledge needs to butt in and attack. How hard is it to keep quiet or supportive?
Victim blaming. I have seen it happening.
SA warning
It was "but they were both on drugs" and "but they were in a relationship".
Often from women.
Then there's the cherrypicking; one allegation was rape, the other that the guy was grooming her because he was much older than her. People got hung up on the age difference as something that shouldn't be an issue, and ignored the much bigger issue: "what, now I can't try to pick up young women anymore? You're creating an athmosphere of fear and prosecution!" - No dipshit, you just can't rape them.
The same applies to the person who stands with the victim (that was me): "but I've seen you flirting with younger women too! Don't be so sanctimonious!"
Frankly, just trying to support her was a horrible experience. Can't imagine how it must have felt for her. So brave to come forward.
But I wouldn't miss this experience for the world.
I hope you're doing OK.
Even years later, when I tell my story I get victim blaming comments, even from people I otherwise trusted. I no longer bring it up outside of with other women I feel safe with.
CW: SA
"You can't just take back your consent."
I didn't. I said stop, they didn't, because finishing was more important than my comfort. Consent can be retracted at any time. Stop means stop, and no means no.
"Did you even defend yourself?"
He was bigger, stronger, and had already ignored my "stop" and my "no." I was scared and I shut down.
The person who assaulted me never faced any consequences. I still freeze up during intimacy. I hope Jane Doe gets justice and closure.
If I go out to eat, I can take back my consent at any time. I don't see a difference here.
"This [food] sucks, I'm out."
Shit that this happened to you. I hope you're better.
No panels, at least on Piefed. Only one image with the text “TW: Sexual assault” in the center.
I'm on piefed. The comic is under a TW in the post body
