Sounds like you're confusing "clearly conservative" people with "I have a dark sense of humor" people but I'm not sure there's much overlap, if any.

[–] boonhet@sopuli.xyz 6 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

Way back in the day, when I still (barely) used Facebook (might've been my late teen years or early 20s, so early-mid last decade), a friend invited me to a group for "dark humor". Pretttttty much every 3rd post was about black people. You can get away with it a bit easier here because we only have like 3 of them, but it did not take long to figure out that "dark humor" for these people means "I'm allowed to make fun of minorities because it's a joke". I was expecting much wilder jokes, but nah. Garden variety racism.

[–] TrickDacy@lemmy.world 3 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

Yeah, that sounds like a teenager thing tbh. Maybe they used that term as cover, but I've personally not dealt with that, hence my reaction

[–] sad_detective_man@sopuli.xyz 1 points 2 hours ago

You are fortunate. It's an annoying genre of person

Why don't churches allow WiFi?

Tap for spoilerThey don't want to compete with an invisible power that actually does something

[–] Lushed_Lungfish@lemmy.ca 3 points 10 hours ago

That's awesome! Thanks!

[–] Someonelol@lemmy.dbzer0.com 11 points 20 hours ago

I'm stealing this thank you.

[–] HerbGrower@slrpnk.net 78 points 1 day ago (2 children)

But I like dark humour.

Every day hundreds of sex offenders go to the police station, then they clock in.

Terrible shame that assassination attempt on Trump. Just a little to the right and we would be having a party right now.

I find it amazing as a country with the right to bear arms, you're all such a shit shot. When it comes to Ronald.

[–] uriel238@lemmy.blahaj.zone 5 points 4 hours ago

AR-15 style rifles aren't HPRs. 500 meters is long range.

Our active gunmen are not gun enthusiasts. They don't squeeze a thousand rounds on the range to get good with their rifle. They don't hunt.

They're the equivalent of a would-be vigilante reading up on martial arts techniques and practicing a dozen reps before going out on the street to get curb stomped.

[–] vaultdweller013@sh.itjust.works 2 points 8 hours ago

Well with the first one the dumbass didn't have a scope and was aiming for the head. Though in the defense of going for head instead of center mass it's possible he figure Trump had body armor, would be kinda hard to tell with how much mass he has.

[–] Lushed_Lungfish@lemmy.ca 1 points 10 hours ago

Ronald MacDonald?

[–] ICastFist@programming.dev 6 points 19 hours ago

It's all the hyperprocessed fat and sugar in their eyes, they can't see straight.

[–] StumblingWasabi@lemmy.today 8 points 22 hours ago

Most of the people that like having guns support the orange

[–] QueenHawlSera@piefed.social 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

So he hadn't announced Vance as his VP pick.. What would have happened if justice had been served that day. Would Kamala Harris run unopposed?

[–] sawdustprophet@midwest.social 10 points 1 day ago

Would Kamala Harris run unopposed?

Definitely not. The convention would still have happened and a candidate would have been nominated to run. The timeline and internal party politics would have been drastically altered, though.

Even if the Repubs didn't nominate someone, there were still third parties running that would have probably just filled the void.

But how many of them does it take to change a light bulb?

[–] Zorque@lemmy.world 37 points 1 day ago

None, they cant stop chortling once the bulb goes out. Someone else has to do it.

Unless they were actually in the military and saw combat, strangely enough.

[–] tyranny@crazypeople.online 83 points 1 day ago (2 children)

joke about killing police officers and listen to a chorus of 'not cool bro' regardless of your gender

[–] ChicoSuave@lemmy.world 14 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

What's a good joke that would upset the "yell-at-the-strawman-inside-my-truck" crowd?

[–] bdonvr@thelemmy.club 14 points 22 hours ago (2 children)

Make Charlie Kirk the punchline

[–] ICastFist@programming.dev 11 points 19 hours ago

That's going for the jugular

[–] Wrufieotnak@feddit.org 2 points 19 hours ago

Well he did that all by himself all all the time! *badumtiss*

[–] bdonvr@thelemmy.club 3 points 22 hours ago* (last edited 22 hours ago) (1 children)

I'm not sure internally I ever moved past my edgy humor highschool self who made immature, sarcastic, and super past the line jokes

I'm also a damn dirty commie so yeah I'd laugh at it

[–] idiomaddict@lemmy.world 3 points 15 hours ago

I still enjoy many dark jokes internally too, but I definitely don’t share them with as wide an audience as I used to- I’ll make a joke about priests molesting kids to my husband, close friends, or immediate family, but I know that I can’t generally know who has been impacted by that, and I’m not trying to fuck up someone’s day with a flip joke.

I also don’t enjoy dead baby jokes nearly as much as I used to, because I’ve now known several people who’ve had a late miscarriage or stillbirth, or whose children died, and I can’t separate the punchline from the image of their faces while grieving or talking about the loss. I still like dark humor about things that directly impacted me, but for things that only happened to loved ones, I can’t see the humor anymore.

[–] QueenHawlSera@piefed.social 30 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Unlike you snowflakes I'm not so easily triggered sees a transperson becomes irate and erect

MAYBE I AM, BUT I KNOW HOW TO DEAL WITH IT LIKE A MATURE ADULT.

put on your latest angry song [currently Wage Wars Get Rich Die Handsome by The Mountain Goats] and go punch a bag of cat food. what did you expect me to say?

[–] neidu3@sh.itjust.works 5 points 1 day ago

(And ashamed (because he thought his momma spanked the gay out of him))

No no, they're not considering suicide, they're just applying to pilot those F-18 submarines!

[–] Carl@anarchist.nexus 18 points 1 day ago (1 children)

If F-18’s aren’t meant to be in the water, why does the navy keep throwing them into the ocean?

i thought they started dunking f35s lately

[–] ICastFist@programming.dev 20 points 1 day ago (1 children)

"Netanyahu? More like Genocidetoyou, amirite?"

"wtf bro that's antisemitic!!!!"

[–] QueenHawlSera@piefed.social 13 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I'm about to say something so blatantly antisemitic that it qualifies me to be Head of the SS.

It is wrong to murder children.

[–] dethedrus@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 9 hours ago

You... MONSTER!

[–] atro_city@fedia.io 18 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Make a joke about Trump and suddenly they want to fist-fight you.

Such fragile snowflakes.

[–] QueenHawlSera@piefed.social 14 points 1 day ago

When Trump asks "What is a woman?" It has nothing to do with transpeople, he's just mistaken 12 for the age of consent again.

[–] HeHoXa@lemmy.zip 1 points 1 day ago

😂 No suddenly they want to talk a lot about fist fighting and how they can't because they'd probably kill you and forced laugh their way back to their safe space

[–] solidheron@sh.itjust.works 5 points 21 hours ago

People get mad when I decide to act on "I choose the lives if Iranian civilians over the lives of US soldiers". There's no joke there but I don't see people joking about civilians getting to live another day because troops moral is so low

[–] theuniqueone@lemmy.dbzer0.com 14 points 1 day ago

They just want an excuse to punch down and feel powerful.

[–] albbi@piefed.ca 12 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Whenever you make jokes about the military you always start with the marine core. Why? Beca by the time you're done they've understood the first line.

Seamus Kennedy - Armed Forces Tribute

Love this 'song'. Full of armed services jokes. What does MARINE stand for? Muscles Are Required Intelligence Not Essential.

[–] sad_detective_man@sopuli.xyz 7 points 1 day ago (1 children)

TBF I always enjoyed the USMC's humor towards themselves. I don't think anyone burns them harder they do and they go way low, like having drill chants about disintegrating marriages and Jody fucking their wives

[–] albbi@piefed.ca 1 points 10 hours ago

Very interesting to hear about how certain institutions assimilate their members. I'd say that kind of joking is preparing them to be less emotional about their situation since they're all going through it.

I'm very curious about what medical schools do to turn people into highly respected doctors and make them believe they can work well without proper sleep.

[–] Shrubbery@piefed.social 5 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Careful when joking about religion on Piefed, you'll get slaughtered ... with upvotes.

[–] QueenHawlSera@piefed.social 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

God is either evil, impotent, or imaginary. That is the only explanation for the suffering in the world.

the explanation for why my god allows suffering is my god is distracted trying to find their lost teapot. it makes tea just the way they like it. and yes, they are imaginary but that doesn't make them any less shut uppy.

[–] sad_detective_man@sopuli.xyz 5 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

It might be low hanging fruit but I'm not above it. Though there is a Catholic guy around who hasn't learned to not provoke the hornet nest yet and I try to be nice to him

[–] driving_crooner@lemmy.eco.br 4 points 1 day ago

When you tell them that you are Charley Kirk and you are carrying the torch
