Where are Grizzly bears finding Chobani yogurt in the wild? I could save money on store bought if I can just find it outside.๐Ÿค”

First prove you aren't a bear.

[โ€“] Kolanaki@pawb.social 14 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I'm a dog. It says so in my profile.

This is "People Twitter". Dogs ain't people.

[โ€“] Kolanaki@pawb.social 24 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Sir, this is Lemmy. Dogs can be whatever they want.

Add 1/4 cup plain chobani to a gallon of milk that has been heated to 185ยฐ f and cooled to ~110ยฐ f and hold it at 105ยฐ f for 8ish hours and you have more chobani.

[โ€“] BonsaiBoo@lemmy.world 7 points 1 week ago (1 children)

You have died of dysentery

[โ€“] schmorpel@slrpnk.net 3 points 1 week ago

No, the whole idea of fermenting milk in different ways is so you don't. You can safely have your milk transformed by bacteria into yoghurt, kefir or cheese! Of course, Big Yoghurt doesn't want you to know.

[โ€“] Cethin@lemmy.zip 2 points 1 week ago

Well, if you add a shit ton of sugar, yes. Without all the extra sugar it's just yogurt. Chobani is popular because it's a desert that tricks people into thinking they're eating something healthy.

Regular Greek yogurt is good, but it's not as enjoyable for most people. Throw in some berries and/or granola though it's it's pretty close, and significantly better for you.

[โ€“] chiliedogg@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago

Okay, but you're gonna have to fight a few bears.

Occupied camp sites?

[โ€“] kbobabob@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 1 week ago

It's definitely the yogurt that made them ask.

[โ€“] Sanctus@anarchist.nexus 16 points 1 week ago (4 children)

Umm, how is this supposed to be prepared? Hopefully not all together.

[โ€“] MutantTailThing@lemmy.world 43 points 1 week ago

Iโ€™d tear the plastic off first, not really partial to that stuff.

Honey glazed salmon for dinner and yogurt with fruit for dessert

[โ€“] panda_abyss@lemmy.ca 7 points 1 week ago (3 children)

Iโ€™m a little sceptical on honey glazed salmon, Iโ€™d want to mix in some soy sauce or something to balance out the sweetness.

But you can just try a few mixes with the honey to see what profile you like then make a glaze out of it.

[โ€“] Deconceptualist@leminal.space 7 points 1 week ago (1 children)

A good bottle of soy sauce lasts a while, they probably already have some in the pantry. Or Maggi.

Plus toss some herbs on that salmon... good stuff.

[โ€“] rustydrd@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Is this going to be another one of those "well-stocked pantry" sort of things?

[โ€“] rainwall@piefed.social 1 points 1 week ago

Its made in the same kitchen as the "ready in 15 minute's" recipes that leave out 30 minutes of food prep and 1hr of cook time.

[โ€“] Corkyskog@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 week ago

Try cedar plank salmon with just a honey glaze. Its really not as sweet as you think unless you go crazy with it.

[โ€“] swelter_spark@reddthat.com 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Mustard and honey goes well together on salmon.

[โ€“] panda_abyss@lemmy.ca 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Iโ€™ll try that sometime

I only really buy seed mustard, most mustards are too strong tasting for me.

That's what I've used in the past. It was good.

It sounds disgusting to me, but here you go:

Roasted Salmon in a Strawberry-Balsamic Reduction

  • 2 salmon fillets
  • ยฝ tsp coarse black pepper
  • For the Strawberry-Balsamic Reduction:
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, chopped + more for topping
  • 4 Tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 4 Tbsp water
  • 4 Tbsp honey

Leftover Reduction: You can enjoy any leftover strawberry-balsamic reduction drizzled over yogurt, with ice cream or as a substitute for jam.

[โ€“] OldChicoAle@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Strawberry balsamic ice cream. With a drizzle of real good quality, fresh EVOO. Trust me

I'm going to have to trust you, cuz I'm not trying it. I'm not very adventurous with my food that way.

[โ€“] PunnyName@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago

Definitely not. They probably already have other ingredients, but needed these things since they were out, or low.

[โ€“] SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world 14 points 1 week ago

Just the bear necessities

So the men choose the bear too?

[โ€“] k0e3@lemmy.ca 8 points 1 week ago

It's very nice of her to give him a shout-out for something so simple. It made me think about how I might be taking all the little things my wife does for me for granted.

[โ€“] Aceticon@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Nah, that shit is farmed salmon not wild salmon.

[โ€“] mlg@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Vincent from over the hedge?

[โ€“] Manalith@midwest.social 2 points 1 week ago

I didn't see any Pringles.

[โ€“] SethranKada@lemmy.ca 0 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Why on earth would you ever want wild salmon? That shit is infested with parasites

Parasites that are killed when you prepare the fish correctly and thus are harmless. The alternative is to eat farmed salmon that is full of medicine and antibiotics to contain the parasites. You have to pick your poison. Or you could of course choose to not eat salmon instead.

[โ€“] S_H_K@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 1 week ago

Ahhh so that's why the women preferred the bears. It was in food rather than fowers!

[โ€“] OpenStars@piefed.social 5 points 1 week ago

Um... do we know for sure that they are NOT a bear!?1?

[โ€“] Bonus@sh.itjust.works 4 points 1 week ago

Grizzly: Atlantic farmed salmon? Psh

[โ€“] austin@piefed.social 4 points 1 week ago
