I agree with most of that, except it's still good as a tattoo, as long as they preserve it after his death for the Louvre

Extend it to 1984. People forget that in the long ago, everything traveled slower. People in rural areas were a few years behind when it came to trends, cable rollout, item availability, etc
Trends also took longer to go around the globe, even for English speaking countries.
