That's stupid that he got that tattoo. It's art. It needs to be in the Louvre, not on a leg hidden most of the time under long pants.

[–] Fishnoodle@lemmy.world 9 points 2 months ago

I agree with most of that, except it's still good as a tattoo, as long as they preserve it after his death for the Louvre

In the future, all art is tattooed on fat guys in the Louvre.

This dude knows what’s up.

Goddammit I was going to say this. Have your upvote!

Well they're not wearing long pants right now (and shoes). Looks like street art to me. And street art does not belong in the Louvre. Checkmate!

That's a perfect way to put my exact feelings on it

Date of birth: 1979 - 1982. Bank on it.

Extend it to 1984. People forget that in the long ago, everything traveled slower. People in rural areas were a few years behind when it came to trends, cable rollout, item availability, etc

[–] A_norny_mousse@piefed.zip 6 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Trends also took longer to go around the globe, even for English speaking countries.
How did people survive without the internet?* It's baffling.

That’s a good point. Maybe we can extend the time window all the way to 1990 or so.

[–] UnspecificGravity@piefed.social 4 points 2 months ago

That's fair, and honestly might be more likely since the band we are looking for is essentially old enough to have seen Beavis on TV and be young enough to have thought the pokemon cartoon was cool.

[–] billwashere@lemmy.world 3 points 2 months ago

Yeah the crossover window here is small… gotta agree.
