GIven that the rest are blatant lies, the "20k protesters" one doesn't belong in the meme. Because while it's poor justification for a war that will only make things worse, a similar number has been independently confirmed according to some comments here.

Lmao this is already out of date, missing "we're blocking the strait to unblock it"

The Iranian regime did kill a lot of protesters although the exact number is hard to verify and it should not be used as justification for war crimes and terrorism from the American Regime against the Iranian people.

The people of Iran are in a lose - lose situation.

Edit: The US-based Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA) reported over 5,000–7,000 deaths

Preemptive strike on a children's school

Wouldn't want them to grow up and die in a protest.

This is correct. The People of Iran need time to sort through their problems, and freedom from sanctions from the West so they can trade with the rest of the world.

We are both starving the Iranian people and bombing them. All while failing to achieve democracy like we say we want.

I work with a bunch of magats and a lot of the customers are magats as well. A customer was talking to me about current events and the magat boss cuts us off and says to the customer, "Careful, hes not like us". Like, excuse me? the hell did you just say? You're right, I can think for myself.... They complain of echo chambers but create bubbles around them in real life and refuse to even talk to people who aren't "like them".

It is so hard to get a decent work in the USA now, so that it is no wonder why this guy tolerates it for as long as he can.

In brighter news, the trump house near me took down their trump stuff. Now it's just generic "god bless America" conservative stuff.

It was probably the "praise be to Allah" thing, wasn't it?

[–] krisevol@lemmy.zip 13 points 3 days ago (2 children)

Most Trump supporters don't like Muslims. The praise be to allah only reenforces that because now they both know they are on the same side of hating them.

It would only make make democrats hate him, but they already do.

I didn't think mocking Muslims is what is doing trump in, it's probably the whole package.

[–] m0stlyharmless@lemmy.zip 7 points 2 days ago

Many Christians found this insulting too because it was on Easter.

For example, Tucker Carlson stated that Trump’s post is insulting to both Muslims and Christians. He said that he was personally insulted by it.

I live on kinda the outskirts of the ghetto, drive through it everyday to get to town, and there's this one house, dilapidated af, looks like it should be condemned, busted ass Ford Explorer non-opped on the dogshit-encrusted gravel path—and it's had Trump signs all over the front fence for ten damn years now.

Idk how to make people like this understand that Donny John literally would not piss on you if you were on fire. He'd just call you white trash, then rape your daughter on his way out.

Glad yours took their signs down, but damn. Lotta people have decided to die on this garbage ass hill.

I'm pretty convinced that there are real people, and there are bots/inciters.

The vast majority of the ones you (and real people magas) hear are bots and inciters.

I wonder what level or percentage of bots and inciters would be needed to destabilize a country's people, and what level of influence like this would be needed to sustain it. Honestly? Probably not much, the United States is constantly on its own internal cold civil war and has been since the beginning.

Maybe there's a great intellectual threshold needed to see through the bullshit, and most people are born into systems built to prevent seeing through that threshold by any means necessary.

[–] Itdidnttrickledown@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

I'm convinced about the bots but am none too sure about the real people.

[–] rumba@lemmy.zip 1 points 2 days ago

I'm still seeing a lot of red-pill bumper stickers and trump flags in the back of pickups.

I'm not saying there's not paid trolls on the internet, but there are still WAY too many supporters with IRL, local impact shit the way it is.

Well i know there can be billions of bots but there's literally 70M real people who actually voted for him lmao

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

A kernel of truth to this, if you recognize that both Republican and Democrats have wanted the Iranian government overthrown and replaced with American loyalists for nearly fifty years.

The Obama/Biden strategy was to let the State Department polarize the rest of the region against Iran and squeeze them until they capitulated. The Bush/Trump strategy has been to outright assassinate Iranian officials, seize Iranian assets abroad, and plot an invasion of the sovereign territory.

We have a bipartisan consensus on wiping the IRGC and the Muslim-led anti-American government off the map. The question was never of policy, only of strategy.

Another maga take: "I'm okay with getting US soldiers killed since we are killing more of them"
