To ensure wines were falsely labelled “product of Israel,” the Israeli Ministry of Justice secretly hired a local firm to help its lobbying of the Canadian government

Does the wine get it's redness from the blood of Palestinian children?

With each sip you'll experience the subtle aroma of propaganda in calling state-sanctioned paramilitary terrorists "settlers".

Every time Israel is in the news these days it seems like another nail is pounded in their coffin.

One wonders if or when Israel will wake up and realize that they are sinking fast, and the way to stop that is to stop trying to hoodwink the rest of the world into believing they're not a bunch of genocidal pricks.

Well they would also have to stop being genocidal which clashes with their long term project.

Israel has barely seen any consequences for their behavior so far.

Kind of a distinction without a difference, someone who has an issue with wine from illegal settlements probably doesn't want Israeli wine in the first place. Though I do understand the political weight of treating the occupied territories as regular Israeli territories.

These days that's probably true. Prior to Oct 7th, there was a fairly successful narrative established that Israel != settlements and that Israel was good while settlers were bad. I think this narrative broke for a lot of people since the aftermath of Oct 7th.

Similar for SodaStream, which declared that it was an Israeli-Palestinian partnership, providing sorely-needed jobs. It was located in an illegal settlement, and now has moved to Israel proper.

I found Indigo, a Canadian company which makes SodaStream-compatible machines and CO2 bottles, and significantly cheaper too!

Indigo the bookstore brand or another Indigo?

I don't know how sucessful that propaganda was. I don't remember meeting anyone who believed it. (at least not anyone who knew that the "settlements" existed)

🤚 here's one. And I know a few in my social circle. That said we have been exposes to hasbara on person-to-person basis so that coulda been a factor.

I mean settlements can't build themselves. They are build by israel. The harsh truth is that most people didn't care sbout palestinians so really easily connect the dots
