They have apparently succeeded in poisoning the meaning of the term.

The only DEI hire that Republicans approve of

[–] phoenixz@lemmy.ca 6 points 3 hours ago

Allo magat hires have been DEI hires as pretty .uch none of them are even remotely capable for the job they have

[–] barnaclebutt@lemmy.world 25 points 4 hours ago

Oh my god, congratulations Erika. Look how far you got exploiting that bullet in your husband's neck! Amazing. I'm sure his gay rumours were untrue, and that you loved each other so much! I hope you also one day get that closeted couch fucker away from his dirty foreigner wife! Such inspiration. Beautiful.

Donald Trump is cancer. Literally couldn't be a worse person. And he thinks the concept of "qualified" means "is liked by people in power". If this administration doesn't depress you greatly, nothing will.

Nothing of real value is given value by this administration. Only money and hoarding it matter, and nakedly so. They're literally citing greed as why starting a war is ok. "we're going to make a lot of money" is something actually said out loud by politicians in defense of a war. I cannot imagine how this government could get more corrupt.

[–] hector@lemmy.today 9 points 4 hours ago* (last edited 4 hours ago)

There couldn't be a worse person by character. There could be a worse leader, one that was capable, and even just half as mean.

[–] LoafedBurrito@lemmy.world 8 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

Damn, crazy how this nobody is still in the news. She is grifting HARD and loves that her husband was murdered. Now she gets the spotlight and can't get enough of it.

[–] Skullgrid@lemmy.world 1 points 1 hour ago

Unlike them, I get my news from a reliable source :

Lmao. Everything Trump does is so extremely similar to how Hitler and the Nazi regime came to be. It's unbelievable.

Aren't beauty pageant winners supposed to advocate for world peace?

[–] Noite_Etion@lemmy.world 52 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

Kirk, a former Miss Arizona beauty pageant winner, was also recognized by Trump during the president’s State of the Union address to a joint session of Congress in February.

She was hired because of ~~nepotism~~ her qualifications...

[–] WhatAmLemmy@lemmy.world 35 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

She was hired because she's proven herself to be a valuable psychopath and propaganda operative; those are the only relevant qualifications to the American nazi party.

[–] rozodru@piefed.world 18 points 5 hours ago (3 children)

she'll also be Vance's "Wife" soon if they deem him ready to be next in line. last thing they'd want is an Indian as first lady.

[–] SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca 11 points 4 hours ago

She got herself upholstered in black leather and JD is starting ICE investigation into his wife.

[–] hector@lemmy.today 5 points 4 hours ago

Vance is not getting the succession though. Ha. That fucking tool? No one likes him, that's why he was chosen, so the big man wouldn't be shunted aside for him.

After the dust has settled, Vance will be chopped liver mark my words. Hopefully this cynical bitch throws in her lot with him and get wasted too. Silver lining.

[–] Asafum@lemmy.world 4 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

I don't know about that, she'd be useful to point to so they can say "see, we're not racist! We tolerate her existence!"

[–] 13igTyme@piefed.social 2 points 2 hours ago

The mask is off. The don't care if we think their racist and the certainly don't want to tolerate any brown people.

[–] Salamanderwizard@lemmy.world 76 points 8 hours ago (3 children)

Getting hep c and being discharged with 1 week of boot camp left seemed like a curse when I was 21...but now that I have seen all the bullshit Trump is doing...at 33 I can say thank God for hep c.

[–] hector@lemmy.today 5 points 4 hours ago

I was considering going into the army, in 2001, after the election, I figured the leadership would get us into a war I would not want to be involved in. Nailed it.

[–] Pirky@piefed.world 4 points 5 hours ago

I'm the same age. When I graduated college 10 years ago my dad tried talking me into the air force. I'm so glad I didn't do that; I would have despised serving under this President.

[–] massive_bereavement@fedia.io 15 points 8 hours ago (1 children)
[–] Salamanderwizard@lemmy.world 1 points 3 hours ago

Don't think I've heard that before, but I like it.

[–] Wilco@lemmy.zip 16 points 6 hours ago (2 children)

That BJ game must be good. No one can say this whore has any other talent.

Never met the woman but this feels like a comment copy and pasted from a trove of remarks showing just how sexist an online community is.

Her actions and comments can speak for her not being a good person without us making allegations about her sex life.

[–] zalgotext@sh.itjust.works 6 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

Stop. It's 2026, we don't need to do this sex shaming bullshit anymore. Giving blowjobs doesn't make you a bad person. Being good at blowjobs doesn't make you a bad person. Don't lump Erika fucking Kirk in with people who are simply good at blowjobs. Erika Kirk is a bad person because she's profiting off of her husband's death. Erika Kirk is a bad person because she's continuing her husband's legacy of hate and bigotry. Blowjobs have nothing to do with it, and you're muddying the waters by making that the focus.

[–] Ibuthyr@feddit.org 3 points 2 hours ago

This. If anything, blowjobs should be encouraged. Because they're nice.

[–] aproposnix@scribe.disroot.org 64 points 8 hours ago (5 children)

So basically she's there to help brainwash service members into accepting the coming Apocalypse where they will be embraced by baby Jesus.

[–] NottaLottaOcelot@lemmy.ca 11 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

She’s there to preach about women staying home, raising kids, and keeping quiet. Except her of course, she’s special.

[–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 3 hours ago

Serena fucking Joy over here

[–] robolemmy@lemmy.dbzer0.com 19 points 8 hours ago

That’s been a core value of the academy for decades. It’s a religious cult disguised as a military academy

[–] hector@lemmy.today 1 points 4 hours ago

Angry evangelical baby jesus. Big distinction, that little shit.

Only the best people

Sigh...

[–] Grumpyleb@lemmus.org 6 points 6 hours ago (5 children)

Hopefully Trump steals the midterms as well and plunges the entire world into further chaos, maybe then Americans will consider doing something? I'm genuinely curious as to what it will take for general strikes?

[–] cheffrey@lemmy.zip 19 points 6 hours ago* (last edited 6 hours ago) (2 children)

It’s going to take a culture shift. People on the ground don’t feel like they can trust each other. Until we have a sense that our neighbors won’t let us go hungry, a general strike can’t be sustained.

We get there with mutual aid, building relationships with our neighbors, and time. General strike 2028

[–] MisterNeon@lemmy.world 1 points 3 hours ago

My neighbors are letting me go hungry. Right now I need help and there is no one.

[–] Grumpyleb@lemmus.org 6 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

Damn, if you're aiming for 2028 to effect any realistic changes that ship might have sailed. People are already hungry and broke, I don't understand you lot to be honest.

[–] FireRetardant@lemmy.world 9 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

Just 2 more years of fascism then we can speak up

[–] Grumpyleb@lemmus.org 5 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

Fascism will dig in and you won't have elections without violence, we've literally seen it before. Only this time they have the worlds richest people funding them.

[–] Jumbie@lemmy.zip 4 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

He’s being facetious. Sarcastic, even.

People here will not general strike until they literally cannot feed themselves. And even then, it's a toss up.

[–] Grumpyleb@lemmus.org 1 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

The problem with that is you're going to get nothing but resentment and very little sympathy from most people. The actions of your government is causing chaos in the world, and for all intents and purposes you're doing nothing about it.

[–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 2 hours ago

I'm just stating the reality, not defending it.

Something like 40% of people in this country support what's happening. They might tell a survey that they're not happy about invading Iran, but it will never stop them from financially supporting, and voting for, the fascists that are doing the things.

People here are rotten to the core.

Wait a minute, hear me out: What if - and I'm just spitballing here - what if Melania wanted to be on that panel? What would have to happen?

[–] NottaLottaOcelot@lemmy.ca 9 points 6 hours ago

She already has a job - it’s fondling wrinkly dicks in exchange for expensive outfits
