This is a community for discussion, news, and memes pertaining to the video game sub-genre "soulslike".

Given Lemmy's size, the definition of soulslike may be treated relatively loosely. While games like the numerous FromSoft titles, the recent Star Wars Jedi games, Lies of P, Nioh and similar games should be the focus, games that incorporate soulslike elements - like Hollow Knight and Blasphemous, for example - may also be discussed here.

I'm waiting for someone to claim that Demon's Souls is only souls-LITE because the world isn't interconnected enough.

I mean, your strawman has a point. 1-1 to 1-5 is connected. But what about worlds 2-5? They aren't connected to world 1. Michael Salakis really dropped the ball there

Demon's Souls is the source of Souls-like, not Dark Souls.

Also, as an aside the "-like" genre titles kinda suck. Sucked with Doom-like, sucks with Souls-like, and also with Rogue-like.

I like soulsborne, it'd probably be more used if they ever come out with the Bloodborne remake. Aaaannny day now.....
