Sums up the experience for just about any game that's being discussed on reddit for a long time

Thank you for your insight, Mr Karate Kid

"What's the sexiest sex you've ever sexed"

right up there with "Women of reddit: do you like [absolutely generic and traditionally handsome trait or article of clothing] on men?"

Sounds like you have loads of game time ahead of you!

I'd love to switch over to Linux, but competitive online games don't work on Linux, unfortunately. If it weren't for anti-cheat systems, they'd work flawlessly, I imagine. Sadly, these are pretty much the only games I'm playing on PC right now, so no way for me to migrate over outside of stopping playing those games.

It's a single healthbar, luckily. So no surprises after the phase change in that regard.

I feel like the game is a lot harder than Sekiro but not for the reasons one might think. Compare your average boss' moveset to any boss in Sekiro, for example. They're super simplistic, have maybe like 3-4 moves, and spam them on repeat. The difficulty comes from the overreliance on gear, levels, and skills, I feel like. Compare Viper or Volbaino to the early bosses in Sekiro. Even the drunkard in Hirata Estate or Lady Butterfly have more depth than these two. But Viper is an insurmountable challenge for most beginners.

Like, I've seen an overview that shows which boss has killed players the most and Viper was number one by a huge margin. It probably has to do with the game being a lot harder than your average soulslike but also because Viper just two-shots you and has very erratic or illogical movement (even though he's as stiff as it gets) due to your gear not being good enough at that point in the game.

Other bosses get more manageable with better gear, but definitely not easier than Sekiro bosses. Sekiro has its fair share of super frustrating bosses, but Khazan really made sure to have even more BS in there to piss you off.

Tiny spoiler: the final boss, to me, felt more difficult than LoP's (including DLC) or Sekiro's. Feels very very anime and over the top. And that's how most boss fights are, I feel like.

Fortunately, Khazan can get equally OP as the game progresses which is cool. Feels like a more even match. Comparable to Sekiro if you've ever seen an Ongbal video.

I also found this 74-page guide on her.

Souls fans are on another level. Holy fuck.

Sounds like a pretty smooth ride overall. Glad it's going well.

Do you want to know or should it be a surprise? :D

💙 My pleasure.

The day consoles allow for mods, outside very few exceptions like Skyrim, will probably also be the day physical games return. So never, sadly. It's so sad that so many developers turn a blind eye to mods in general.

Sounds tough, your playthrough. I've not gotten that far in DS3, but judging by what the game offered in the earlier fights in terms of complexity, I can imagine it only getting harder. Especially on SL1. How's the journey been thus far?

It's cool that you're enjoying your time with DS3 more now than you did before. I've often had the experience that repeat playthroughs of a game kinda made me like it less, but soulslikes usually had the opposite effect for me.

Maluca took me loads of tries. One of the bossed that made me re-evaluate my wanting to finish the game at all. One of the harder bosses for sure.

Yea, I wish consoles allowed for mods. Sorely missing for sure

Sorry for missing last weekend's post. I've got exams coming up and haven't been playing too much lately, so it just kinda slipped my mind.

I am yet to play any soulslikes right now. Don't have a lot of mental capacity for anything other than League of Legends.

I've been a console gamer ever since ~2017 when I bought my first console(s) and have been playing on them exclusively up until last year when I built myself a PC. Thus, until last year, I've only been playing soulslikes on PS4/5 and have enjoyed doing so as well. The games run well, it's comfy to play from the couch, and the games look nice too.

Ever since getting my PC, I have replayed Sekiro and Lies of P and have tried my hand at Another Crab's Treasure too. I'm not sure if my liking it more on PC has to do with my decreased tolerance towards console BS, but I think I prefer it over console. I have a better posture, I can do stuff on the side, the games I've played thus far work really well even with my very outdated rig (1080ti and very outdated mo-bo and CPU)... I don't even have much of an urge to go back to console even though I have a lot of soulslikes I still need to check off my list there (DS1-3, Nioh 1&2).

I don't know, I feel like the discontinuation of physical games on PlayStation is more of a cherry on top of all the other gripes I have with consoles as a whole. PS5 might very well be the last console I've bought. Especially since I'll be done with school soon and will have more of a disposable income, I'll try to put it towards upgrading my PC despite RAM-ageddon and the insane storage prices.

What are your thoughts on this?

Must have been before all grass got burnt to a crisp because of the heat...

Love your nails, omg. Did you go to a salon for those or did you "make" them yourself?

First letter of each word top to bottom

Another good one. One can resist Than only for so long

People seem to be having fun with the game! Don't have a chance to give it a try since I don't have PS+, but maybe some of you can give your thoughts on this?

I'd be very happy if the sequel worked out well since the first game had a cool premise going.

My internal clock has been utterly derailed by having finished school last week, so I didn't even notice that it's Friday again lol. I don't have any soulslikes on my plate right now - sounding like a broken record at this point - but I've been thinking about trying to get a PS4 emulator running on my PC to give Bloodborne another go. It's been way too long since I've last played it.

I'm not sure if it's the saddest boss in a soulslike, but Romeo from Lies of P is definitely up there. The second playthrough recontextualises many boss fights and this one was just gut wrenching.

What's your pick?

I'd probably go with Bloodborne. The way the sky changes with the phases of the night is just mesmerising.

What's your favourite?

Thanks once again for everyone who took part in our recent giveaway! We've had quite a turnout and six winners in total. I hope that y'all enjoy your new games!

I still don't have any soulslikes on my plate. I have downloaded the RE: 9 demo though which is basically a Sekiro-like with its parry mechanic /s

Don't get me wrong - if FS announced Bloodborne 2 tomorrow, I'd be very excited. So much so that I'd probably even buy a digital copy if Sony said it won't be printed on a disc. However, do we really need Bloodborne 2?

The story is done. There's not a whole lot more to extract from the lore outside of what already has been. A prequel could make sense and could likely be spun up in an interesting way. But in an age where sequels, spin-offs, and unnecessary remakes exist in all branches of the entertainment industry, maybe it's for the better if Bloodborne is left as is and isn't expanded upon yet again.

Not everything in existence needs a continuation. In anime, for example, I would probably like Samurai Champloo 2, or Cowboy Bebop 2, or Death Note 2, or Afro Samurai 2, or or or... But at the end of the day, isn't part of the appeal of media that it stands on its own, deriving value from the experience itself without needing further derivatives to dilute the essence of the medium?

I don't know, maybe I'm jaded. But my view on BB2 has changed over the years. Between spiritual successors like Lies of P, which is phenomenal and is only lightly inspired by Bloodborne I'd suggest, or other contemporaries that take elements from Bloodborne, like the fast-paced combat and focus on parrying and aggression like in Khazan, I don't feel like we really need a Bloodborne sequel.

What do you think?
