Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Smart. Women shouldn't go near a known rapist.

It's like a fat person wanting to visit Hannibal Lecter.

Accept and disrupt. Get ejected one at a time.

Something nice about them going “no thank you, you aren’t important enough for us to cancel our other plans.”

Trump loves it when people yell at him, it’s validating. Ignoring him like this, sending a very clear message that he’s completely not worth the effort, when he explicitly invited them? That gets him.

To be very clear, this only works because he did the inviting. Absolutely people in the US should otherwise be yelling quite loudly, starting fires, and organizing to keep themselves safe and to fight back as a group.

When you see how men's hockey team reacted to Trump's joke about inviting women's team, it makes it all the more repulsive. Not shocking, but still disgusting.

Trump, Make America Misogynistic Again.

[–] WizardofFrobozz@lemmy.ca 7 points 1 day ago

The US is more sexist than it is racist- and it’s REALLY fucking racist

A wise move. Trump will demand at least one gold medal as tribute if they did go.

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 6 points 1 day ago

I'm surprised he isn't screaming about how he wants a Gold Medal, he deserves one, he's better at GolfSportsBall than everyone, he wins every game he plays, he's won every Trump Golf Tournament in history, GIVE ME MY GOLD MEDAL!!!

[–] SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 day ago

Just gold plated. He got a full bar from Tim Apple.

Good for them, I only wish that their letter of rejection was blunt instead of citing "scheduling conflicts."

They could have gotten massive support if they just openly said "We aren't going because the President and his administration are evil, stupid, cruel fuckwads and we would rather go in the woods and be eaten by bears than even be photographed in the same frame as the white house broadly. Someone please restore USAID because almost a million people have already died as a direct result of canceling that cheap program."

I agree, but publicly insulting Dear Leader would result in ICE entering their domicile without a warrant.

Who knew the entire USA Women's hockey team was a bunch of illegal immigrants!?

I wouldn't want to have to get close enough to smell him.

[–] SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

It's the best smell, really, no better smell, they tell me it's like fresh strawberries, let me tell you, the best.

[–] MuskyMelon@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

Still covered in manure from the fields.

[–] SpiceDealer@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 1 day ago

I'm proud of you, girls! Tell Dear Leader to go fuck himself.

[–] Stern@lemmy.world 9 points 1 day ago (3 children)

Random aside, I'd think body builders should be more concerned about Lecter then chubby folks. Steaks aren't made of fat after all.

[–] MuskyMelon@lemmy.world 7 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Lean meat is overrated. Wagyu is better.

[–] HermitBee@feddit.uk 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Do you think Wagyu is just fat cows?

[–] Big_Boss_77@fedinsfw.app 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Exercised meat is tough meat. Your best beef is from lazy cows. Fat is marbling and marbling is flavor. I've never raised wagyu, but this is how you get USDA Prime.

[–] HermitBee@feddit.uk 2 points 22 hours ago

I don't doubt that, but I think there's a difference in what we're calling "fat' here. I'd wager that you generally didn't raise cows with rolls of excess fat - just ones with a healthy amount.

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

What? Marbling is what makes a steak great. Wagyu is practically butter.

[–] Stern@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

Marbling, not pure fat, which is what the stereotype of a fat person would be. Maybe a Sumo wrestler or strongman would be most concerned since their bodies would be more primed along the wagyu lines.

[–] corsicanguppy@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 day ago

concerned about Lecter then chubby folks

then

Seems after Dr Lecter was done there may not be much left for chubby folks.

The things that will be remember about this gold medal is that 10 minutes after the win, the whole team was celebrating and laughing at disgusting jokes from a pedophile and his prrotectors. Sad but not surprising a bit.
