Tienes todo mi apoyo amigo. Espero que puedes sobrevivir estos momentos traumaticos. Soy estadounidense pero de raices cubanas. Solidaridad con Venezuela y todo latinoamerica! 🇨🇺 🤝 🇻🇪

Alabama considers unfertilized ovaries to be living human beings. Eggs. Just the yolk. America is indeed nuts.

Mail it to the governor's house and that state's Republican caucus HQ.

I'm pretty sure the inclusion of any equation should've been a dead giveaway.

We Gen Z get called "the first digital kids" but I clearly remember the last days of physical and optical media. My sister and I would burn CDs with songs we would download from LimeWire.

Well, comrades, you know what this means:

Chemtrails; now that's an ancient conspiracy theory that I didn't expect to see making a comeback. Can't wait to see laws against GMOs. /s

It's 2035. Chinese EVs are still banned in the US market. The Trumpist regime still hasn't provided suitable alternative modes of transportation and the air is unbreathable. I have just snucked out of a San Diego harbor with a BYD electric hatchback. Life is good.

Joynes was suspended pending a police investigation. But this did not stop her from inviting a second boy to her apartment for a “date night” that involved an Ann Summers scratchcard of sexual activities.

She became pregnant with the boy and gave birth last year, but the child was taken away from her.

This is sickening! The fact that she only got six years is a severe injustice to those two boys and the unfortunate child that was conceived in such a manner. Let's not "both sides" this: sex abuse is sex abuse. As @MrSulu@lemmy.ml pointed out, this will probably get some attention among far-right chuds for about week and get forgotten. It won't solve any issues and one more kid will fall into that hateful ideology. I hope the two boys get the help they need and that baby gets a good family that will look after it.

(Also, I had to look up what "Ann Summers" was in the context of this story and now I feel like shooting my laptop)

I talked to him for about 20 or 30 minutes about my being sex trafficked by my uncle and Jeffrey Epstein in 1984 while I was 13 and [pregnant] ...

Hmm, this really pushes the timeline of the Trump-Epstein friendship back some years. In this 2002 New York Magazine interview, he says that he's known Epstein for 15 years (circa. 1987). But this murder happened in 1984, how long had they actually known each other?

Here's one link and another if that gets taken down.

It's only a matter of time before evolutionary biologists and paleontologists are found dead.

It seems my motherboard died after five years of service. I did some testing to verify this. All my other components seem to work. I will do one last test before making a purchase but, again, the motherboard is the most likely culprit. The motherboard in question is an MSI MPG X570 Gaming Pro Carbon Wifi. Would it be wise to buy this exact motherboard again? If not, which compatible motherboard should I buy?

I've been getting back into reading and while nothing will beat a physical book, having a device with multiple EPUBS seems like a good way to save space and money. After a bit of searching, I'm down to two options: Kobo (specifically the Libra Colour) and Boox (specifically the Go Color 7). I've discarded tablets because they're just a larger phone and thus blue light-induced eye strain. I've also discarded the Kindle because of Amazon's business practices. I known that Kindles can jailbroken (which I wouldn't mind doing) and I could buy one second-hand on eBay but I prefer to give my money towards a better competitor.

Which one do you think is better? Have you used their previous e-readers? How do they compare?

Thanks in advance!

I'm writing a short story, set in the 1960s, where the protagonist acquires an Olympia typewriter and disregards his previous typewriter as a "poor people's writer." I don't much about typewriters of that era (or any era, really). I've only learned about the aforementioned Olympia brand. Any info is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

You can't make this shit up. Here's the channel if you're curious

I've got a MTB project and one of the first step I want to take is removing the old frame paint and apply new paint. What's the best way to remove the old paint? Can aircraft paint remover be used? Thanks in advance.

Tips on getting certs? (lemmy.dbzer0.com)

A couple of weeks ago, I made this post over at !asklemmy@lemmy.world asking if I should go back to university. After some thoughtful consideration, I've decided to pursue certs; specifically Comptia A+ and then the Network+. I'm almost done with an A+ study guide I bought and feel almost ready to take the exam. But I've also wanted to hear about your experience on getting tech certs and the career that followed. Any advice is welcomed. Thanks in advance.

I'm getting into hobbyist photography and while my Pixel 7 Pro has an adequate camera, eventually I'm going to want something purpose-built. I'm been looking at the Fujifilm X-T10 but I also want to consider other options. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

I'm been thinking a lot about my future lately and I've come to the conclusion that I've had it with blue collar work. I want more out of life than living paycheck to paycheck. For sometime now, I've been hearing that college degrees are worthless nowadays so thought about getting Comptia certifications (A+ and then Sec+) and working remotely. But then I thought about if AI will make those certifications obsolete. I know that "AI taking jobs" is a bit of sensationalist reporting but I do have legitimate concerns. I then thought about going back to college for "advance" careers like computer science and/or electrical engineering; more specifically, a bachelor's degree.

What I want to know is this: would returning to college, especially for a tech-oriented degree, or will it be a waste of time and money? Should I pursue an alternative like certs? Thanks in advance.

I'm some good anarchist podcasts to listen to. What would you guys recommend? Big plus if they have an RSS feed link.
