He traveled forward to ADD his name to give additional notoriety to the files like a Chad.

[–] Jankatarch@lemmy.world 3 points 8 hours ago

Wait I thought it was someone else sharing the same name?

[–] Cattail@lemmy.world 3 points 8 hours ago

Well hawking died before time travel was invented. Now time travelers probably visited hawking while he was on Epstien Island

[–] harrison_fnord@reddthat.com 7 points 13 hours ago

Didn't he also cheat on his wife with his caretaker?

[–] Ensign_Crab@lemmy.world 3 points 11 hours ago* (last edited 10 hours ago)

Edit: Joke already got made and I shoulda checked.

[–] carotte@lemmy.blahaj.zone 80 points 1 day ago

as someone else said: now his time travel experiment is worthless, cause there’s a very good reason no one from the future wanted to go party with him

[–] BobDole4Prez@lemmy.world 18 points 22 hours ago

Maybe no one showed up to his time travel party cuz everyone knew he was a creep.

[–] Orygin@sh.itjust.works 36 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Was he implicated in nefarious shit?
Afaik Epstein had a thing for physics and other physicists are in the files because he liked the subject.

[–] red_bull_of_juarez@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 9 hours ago (1 children)

Yeah, there's all kinds of names in there, but not in a bad context.

[–] Orygin@sh.itjust.works 3 points 6 hours ago

There's even the manual for bash since it was probably installed somewhere on his machine/servers

[–] ivanafterall@lemmy.world 13 points 1 day ago

Lawrence Krauss is one who is definitely not innocent based on his disgusting messages.

[–] Azrael@reddthat.com 24 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Does anybody actually believe that Stephen Hawking was involved in the illegal activities?

[–] RagingRobot@lemmy.world 17 points 1 day ago (2 children)

I believe that he was probably a sexual person in some form and he probably had money so maybe he might have paid for sex. But I have no idea really.

[–] Azrael@reddthat.com 19 points 15 hours ago

Maybe in his earlier life. He was married more than once and had three children.

His name does appear in the Epstein files, but he was never actually accused of anything related to Epstein. To say that Hawking was a pedophile is speculation at best.

[–] chaogomu@lemmy.world 24 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Another factor here is that Epstein was obsessed with physics and being friends with physicists.

While Epstein was always a monster. He could hide it around certain people.

But from everything I've read, the monster always comes out. And we all know what being Epstein's friend eventually entails.

[–] Azrael@reddthat.com 14 points 15 hours ago* (last edited 11 hours ago) (1 children)

That's pure speculation. Your argument is what is referred to as "guilt by association". Your argument has no basis. It wouldn't hold up in court.

[–] Bullerfar@lemmy.world 8 points 15 hours ago* (last edited 15 hours ago) (1 children)

These people don't care. I got downvoted to hell by saying the same thing. Apparently factual evidence isn't the norm in here.

[–] Azrael@reddthat.com 3 points 11 hours ago

You're probably right. A story is more important than facts to them.

[–] bonenode@piefed.social 39 points 1 day ago (1 children)

How would he even go about removing it. Its not like "the files" are a stack of random paper pages in a safe somewhere.

[–] Maiq@piefed.social 40 points 1 day ago (2 children)

He could go back in time and give his caretaker a note to give to him a week before they met that said "And STAY AWAY from that Epstein... He's a bad egg!".

[–] Deceptichum@quokk.au 16 points 1 day ago (3 children)

But he’s dead not a time traveler.

[–] mkwt@lemmy.world 16 points 1 day ago

Which theory explains why he has not accomplished the above.

[–] TheFogan@programming.dev 11 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I think the point is he was attempting to reach out to time travelers... or skeptically making fun of the idea with the time travelers party that no one showed up for.

[–] Deceptichum@quokk.au 22 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

If you were a time traveller, would you want to go back in time to hang out with someone mentioned in the Epstein files?

This all proves that time travellers are real, because they didn't go to his party knowing about his Epstein links.

[–] psx_crab@lemmy.zip 3 points 22 hours ago (1 children)

Are you saying Maiq is a Liar?

[–] Maiq@piefed.social 2 points 20 hours ago

This one might be?

[–] how_we_burned@lemmy.zip 1 points 22 hours ago (1 children)

He could go back in time and give his caretaker a note to give to him a week before they met that said "And STAY AWAY from that Epstein... He's a bad egg!".

Or hawking is a piece of shit who was full well aware of what was going on, partook and thus has expanded no effort to go back in time to stop himself from hanging out with child raping scumbags.

I'm so bitterly disappointed with so many people. Especially Hawking.

[–] Azrael@reddthat.com 2 points 11 hours ago

There is no evidence that h Hawking actually participated in wrongdoing related to Epstein. Guilt by association has no evidential basis.

[–] BigBananaDealer@lemmy.world 16 points 1 day ago

he did, but that is now a seperate timeline that we are not living in

[–] YiddishMcSquidish@lemmy.today 10 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Is it though? There's the whole causality argument, where if time travel does get invented in the future, then you can only travel back to that moment

[–] Rooster326@programming.dev 2 points 21 hours ago

How would you know you've invented time travel then?

You're basically describing a real-time machine.

[–] invertedspear@lemmy.zip 15 points 1 day ago

Doesn’t that just mean he never figured it out? Doesn’t mean it’s impossible for everyone forever.

[–] Heikki2@lemmy.world 7 points 1 day ago

What if time travelers didn't want to travel back bc he was in the files?

[–] AngryCommieKender@lemmy.world 3 points 21 hours ago

Maybe that's why the time travellers didn't show? I know I wouldn't knowing what I know now.

[–] OldChicoAle@lemmy.world 7 points 1 day ago

Sphinx has zero logic to their words

[–] homes@piefed.world 8 points 1 day ago

Irony: he authored those very papers, so his name is all over them

[–] diffaldo@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 1 day ago

That is hard truth.

[–] Diddlydee@feddit.uk 3 points 1 day ago

Stymied by being dead.
