Gates has history of lawsuits against open source projects. And he actively donates against any real systemic change. For example he has invested heavily in carbon capture technology which is useless to making impact to climate change.

They are better because they dont own lemmy and we can easily block their instance.

For reddit avoid posting luigi or elon related content on it you might get your account banned because spez doesnt like it.

Every service or product we use is owned by powerful people far worse than the Lemmy developers.

If we all boycott lemmy and let it burn then we have go back to profit oriented bot infested social media at the end. By design lemmy isnt owned by lemmy devs and we can block their instance by a single click.
