In 2023, China had over 700 million cameras tracking the population.

That's one camera for every two citizens.

But yes the UK is also building a surveillance state.

The special election thing was Republicans trying to limit the power of the incoming Democratic Governor.

It's likely unconstitutional, and Bashear has indicated that he'll ignore it when the time comes. Also the Republicans are terrified of any election at this point.

They delay now to barely "hold" the seat, hoping that Trump somehow becomes competent before November.

How does that matter?

Both are fucking horrible.

But also, China does both. In 2023 they had over 700 million cameras tracking people.

China already has this sort of system completely built out.

Yes, that's how it's implemented under capitalism.

States further into their authoritarianism don't need to bother with middle men and cutouts and shit.

They just put up the cameras.

I'd say Mammon, the demonic personification of greed.

Found this, thought it would be useful.

That's the "battle" talked about in the article.

1880?

Their brains weren't pure, they were thoroughly pickled in various distilled liquors. Which since most transportation of the day knew its way back home, that was fine.

From what I've seen elsewhere, there's a shit head son who is just as bad as the father, and then the rest of the family who kind of hates both.

There's a new technique that uses the AIs "thinking" tags to get it to do things that are otherwise banned by policy.

I'll have to find the article again. But due to the way LLMs work, they can't defend against this sort of attack.

They botched it, but also the worst of the damage was where Trump drove his motorcade over it.
