Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

These fuckers are so backwards. I saw a dipshit try to argue that Minnesotan protestors are the nazis for getting in the way of ICE doing their jobs of removing illegal aliens, and trying to justify all of ICE actions. Like what? Read a book, dipshit... trump regime is damn near copying the nazi fucking playbook. They're so thick skulled brainwashed dumb it fucking hurts! YOU'RE NOT THE GOOD GUYS!!!!

This just in, water is wet!

[–] tpihkal@lemmy.world 4 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Fake news; water only makes other things wet.

Ah, technically correct. The best kind of correct.

[–] wonderingwanderer@sopuli.xyz 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Water is cohesive, meaning water molecules stick to other water molecules. Ipso facto, water is wet.

[–] tpihkal@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Then explain ice. Water stuck to water, but are you going to tell me that ice is wet?

Ice is the only water that can melt. Also, while it's melting, it's covered in liquid water, which means it's wet.

How yellow is it?

[–] Apocalypteroid@feddit.uk 20 points 1 day ago

What astonished me most about this article is that it was written a full year after Muskrat threw a Nazi salute infront of a room of Republicans and they all fucking cheered

It's a entire party feature set!

[–] Godort@lemmy.ca 1 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

The party seems to be a venn diagram.

On one side, you have racists, and on the other side you have rich people who want to plunder the state

Then in the middle you have rich people that compromised to kill brown people for as long as it's profitable

[–] ExLisper@lemmy.curiana.net 13 points 1 day ago

The Trump administration IS the Nazi problem.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago

That's the entire conservative movement and the Republican Party and has been for decades.

It's just that before they might have kept a lid on the crazies being public and now they just don't care...

[–] whitecollarcry@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago

my god they're getting close to discussing reality

[–] dylanmorgan@slrpnk.net 8 points 1 day ago

I am again calling for a “DUUUUHHHH” community for news articles reporting widely known facts.

[–] thefluffiest@feddit.nl 8 points 1 day ago

“The Hitler administration has a nazi problem”

[–] Spur4383@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

You could have nazi that coming! Unless you were looking, or listening, or payed any attention…

[–] ThisIsDys@piefed.europe.pub 7 points 2 days ago

Yes, the problem is that they are nazis.

When is Putin coming to denazify the US?

[–] MajinBlayze@lemmy.world 5 points 2 days ago

The Wikipedia entry for sanewashing can just link to this article

[–] ceenote@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago

I wish we had 100 Mehdi Hasans.

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

Only took them ten years to notice.

[–] MehBlah@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

The problem is they keep trying to convince us they are not nazi's.

[–] Taleya@aussie.zone 0 points 1 day ago
