The equipment made them better equipped, not the ideology, though it does help because of it's accurate materialist understanding of history. The USSR had a massive industry that produced millions of bullets, artillery shells, and hundreds of tanks to fight the nazis. We don't have a nation like that now to fight the nazis, the nazis today are the dominant superpower and it will be a tough fight. I agree though idk what the point of that comment was.

I applaud the sentiment, but uhm… I don't think the comparison is helpful. Fighting external enemies is very different from fighting fascism from within. The "the state champions freedom" vs "the state is tyranny" kind of different.
Like… our main problem today is not guns and ships.
The main problem is media, i.e. the propaganda system that keeps MAGAts happy to shoot themselves in the foot.

Plenty of people fought the nazis before Hitler was even elected.
Everyone that fought the nazis had in common that they didn't get to choose to win. Many of them died on what seemed to be the losing side of that conflict. Their choice was to fight.
Never discount contingency. If people resist more effectively this time, things need not happen the same way.
Evil will still be done, many will still die. But we can prevent the worst.
