I guess some people like to cook their food to al dante

How do you manage to burn a turkey? There are hours of leeway between cooked and burnt.

Unless you accidentally put the oven on a clean cycle.

A smoked turkey looks like that, the skin gets all charred but it's succulent inside

Sugary glaze/coating. Maple or honey is common, or some kinds of brown sugar or molasses glaze. You'll burn the outer layer pretty quick especially if your oven is small and the breast is sticking up close to the burners...

Meat might be okay but the skin will kinda ruin the rest anyway.

Yes and *not* accidentally

The "oven" was a metallurgy furnace.

Food with included activated coal for better digestion. Nice. 👌

There could never be a more appropriate response to a thread! I’ve been laughing for five minutes straight!

[–] 50MYT@lemmy.world 5 points 3 weeks ago

I have like 40 more replies to it lol

guessing it's a recepie blog/person

i'm also guessing Sharon there substituted eggs for diet mayonnaise and baked in 350°C instead of 350°F

edit: turns out it's even dumber. i reverse image searched and Marie Callander's is a shop that sells frozen meals... so this pie was ready, literally all it needed was to visit an oven of a certain temperature for some time

[–] bdonvr@thelemmy.club 7 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Well it says 40 minutes at 350⁰F, hmm so if I crank it to 700⁰F it should be done in 20 minutes!

[–] shneancy@lemmy.world 4 points 3 weeks ago

why stop there! toss it into a pottery kiln at 2100°F and have it ready in less than 7min :)

Wait really? I thought it was just shitty frozen pie brand. Never seen a restaurant.

[–] AngryCommieKender@lemmy.world 4 points 3 weeks ago

The restaurants only existed in SoCal. The frozen foods are everywhere in the US.

[–] AngryCommieKender@lemmy.world 2 points 3 weeks ago

One of the better frozen food manufacturers in the US

[–] Agent641@lemmy.world 5 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

TFW you forget to convert the Fahrenheit temperatures to Celcius.

[–] RememberTheApollo_@lemmy.world 1 points 3 weeks ago

I don’t think you can crank a home oven up that high. 600° F? Wow.

[–] A_norny_mousse@feddit.org 4 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Top right is creepy. I wonder how that happened.

[–] kelpie_returns@lemmy.world 6 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

The product of devil worship in cohort with rock and roll, no doubt

[–] mech@feddit.org 6 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

I blame video games and D&D.
