Violence at a Toronto speaking event has sparked calls for more scrutiny on Israeli soldiers entering Canada, with some saying they should be barred entry or investigated for potential participation in war crimes related to the Israel-Hamas war.

Police arrested and charged six protesters after an event organized by a Toronto Metropolitan University student group Students Supporting Israel (SSI) this month that featured Israel Defence Forces (IDF) soldiers as speakers.

While SSI blamed protesters for a chaotic scene that included screaming and a broken glass door – protesters can be seen on video banging on the venue’s front doors as they are being held off by police β€” clips shared by Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) Toronto show one of the IDF soldiers grabbing and shoving protesters.

Didn't they get arrested in Brazil, just for going on holiday there?

Why isn't Canada also arresting war criminals?

Usually they get a bunch of money (and a bunch of PTSD) after committing war crimes for their country.

Most of them fuck off in India for some months to treat their PTSD. No doubt some choose to holiday in other countries, while they mentally process the children that they've murdered.

Oh look, a live demonstration of what they were trained to doβ€”assault foreign citizens on their own soil.

I really hate how complicit we are in this whole genocide bullshit. Why the fuck are we having the IDF here for speaking events? Fuck these guys and good on those protesters for applying actually useful pressure against them.

Seriously fuck everyone involved in bringing them here.

This is such a bad look for TMU (edit: honouring IOF soldiers at planned events on campus)

say that on the Toronto Subreddit and you'll get downvoted and eventually banned. They're incredibly pro-zionist over there.

Good to know, thanks. I left reddit 2 years ago. That's a good tell of how toxic it currently is

Speaking events on unspeakable acts.
