It is not that there is a general lack of sales in EV cars in Europe. It is more a lack of sales in Ford EV cars that is the problem.

Yes. There's definitely not a "lower than expected demand" for EVs, no matter what their expectation was. What there is is a lack of models for many uses.

In that particular case, the Ford EVs are simply way to expensive. That is their main problem. It is hard to sell a โ‚ฌ40k car in a โ‚ฌ25k car market.

โ€œIn Europe, the demand for electric cars is significantly below industry forecasts,โ€ it said. The plant, which makes an electric version of the Explorer SUV, would move to one shift per day instead of two beginning in January, the company said in a statement.

Hopefully they'll consider making smaller and cheaper EVs, instead of the more expensive SUVs. Europe is not the USA.
