I assumed this was a cheat sheet with the dating profile of someone they were meeting from online dating, but judging by the comments i misinterpreted. Why would someone need a cheat shret with their own name and not know what their own job is?

[–] Obi@sopuli.xyz 7 points 5 hours ago

Because it's their catfish identity I guess.

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 67 points 11 hours ago (3 children)

PACE YOURSELF! 5 beers/hour

Open bottle of tequila

You're not following the instructions!

[–] NotASharkInAManSuit@lemmy.world 5 points 3 hours ago

Tequila isn’t a beer, there were no rules stated about tequila, thus there are no rules against drinking tequila, it’s fair game.

[–] peregrin5@piefed.social 27 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

you have to pregame at least enough to be able to talk to the girls and not just hide in a corner

[–] SatansMaggotyCumFart@piefed.world 7 points 9 hours ago (2 children)

My talking to girls level is two drinks past pushing rope territory.

[–] Alaik@lemmy.zip 3 points 5 hours ago

Damn man, that blows.

[–] Sc00ter@lemmy.zip 2 points 8 hours ago

Thats unfortunate for you. Im sorry to hear that

[–] Maalus@lemmy.world 10 points 10 hours ago

"Name: Michael" in case he isn't following instructions.

[–] Imgonnatrythis@sh.itjust.works 7 points 8 hours ago (2 children)

Are people touchy about Tornadoes?

[–] Madison420@lemmy.world 6 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

Probably over overly enthusiastic which can be a bad thing in the Midwest during tornado season.

[–] GreenKnight23@lemmy.world 8 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

Midwest here.

a tornado once broke into my house and raped my cat. this is why when I see one of those sumbitches I shoot at it.

the only good tornado is a dead tornado.

[–] Madison420@lemmy.world 4 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

I mean like storm chasers.

[–] GreenKnight23@lemmy.world 3 points 5 hours ago

like riders on the storm?

[–] MNByChoice@midwest.social 3 points 7 hours ago

Not the "getting laid" vibe.

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 48 points 13 hours ago (2 children)

Holy shit, are we still on Grey's Anatomy?

[–] bobs_monkey@lemmy.zip 21 points 12 hours ago (1 children)
[–] KindnessIsPunk@lemmy.ca 33 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

it sure is! I proxy watch it by being in the same room as my wife!

[–] bobs_monkey@lemmy.zip 16 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

Damn, that's some longevity. Are any of the original cast still around?

[–] can@sh.itjust.works 30 points 12 hours ago* (last edited 12 hours ago) (2 children)

Looks like these three have held on.

imdb screenshot showing Ellen Pompeo,Chandra Wilson, and James Pickens Jr. have been in 448 episodes from 2005–present

Can't really blame them.

[–] bobs_monkey@lemmy.zip 21 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

Hell yeah, that's some job security lol

[–] can@sh.itjust.works 8 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

Plus for Pompeo, being the titular character means job security for a lot more than just her.

@kindnessispunk@lemmy.ca does it seem like her heart is still in it?

[–] KindnessIsPunk@lemmy.ca 10 points 11 hours ago

Honestly yes but it seems like it might be one of those things where the cast is just fun to work with so everyone's having a good time.

[–] Fredselfish@lemmy.world 4 points 11 hours ago

Holy shit I haven't watched that show since 2012. Crazy still on the air.

[–] invertedspear@lemmy.zip 8 points 12 hours ago* (last edited 12 hours ago) (3 children)

This has got to be at least a few years out of date. Kanye is on the avoid list, and he’s not really relevant lately. And that income in the finance field isn’t going to impress gold diggers. FNAF is a bit dated at this point too, isn’t it?

[–] LiveLM@lemmy.zip 1 points 28 minutes ago

A new FNAF game released just a couple days ago, can you believe it?

[–] wizardbeard@lemmy.dbzer0.com 12 points 11 hours ago

I kind of love that Kanye had that breakdown where he released the Heil Hitler track and went to twitter posting all caps shit saying he was a nazi, and the internet's collective reaction seems to have just kind of rolled their eyes and move on. Just pure apathy. It's not shocking or contreversial, more "Yeah, we all figured that out ages ago. Fuck off."

[–] taiyang@lemmy.world 2 points 8 hours ago

My college aged students are still pretty big on FNAF so probably not dated. Ye would be a terrible conversation starter by today's standards, though, even more so than whenever this was made, lol. "So, how to you feel about Nazi sympathisers?"

[–] Gork@sopuli.xyz 28 points 12 hours ago (2 children)

I too sometimes forget my own name and work in something field.

[–] Im_old@lemmy.world 40 points 13 hours ago (1 children)

Hum, 75-100k for a finance something isn't a lot I think. I mean, I know this is a joke but that sounds wrong.

On a side note, I'd love to talk about with him about all the points under "topic to avoid"!

[–] Album@lemmy.ca 14 points 13 hours ago (3 children)

Depends on what in "finance" and where. Assuming not sales or trading the salaries come down quite a bit depending on job level.

[–] NJSpradlin@lemmy.world 7 points 12 hours ago

Also, probably a recent college grad and entry level.

[–] bobs_monkey@lemmy.zip 2 points 12 hours ago

That's why it's finance something

[–] Drathro@sh.itjust.works 2 points 12 hours ago

AND the workload goes up! The Financial Services industry sure is fun!

[–] LovableSidekick@lemmy.world 14 points 10 hours ago* (last edited 10 hours ago) (1 children)

Yeah... those old hippies with their "be yourself" and "let it all hang out" - clearly the key to life is to wear a mask. Such enlighten. So fulfillment.

[–] nexguy@lemmy.world 2 points 9 hours ago

You can be yourself without a deluge of your own interests flooding the conversation. Unless being yourself of taking only about yourself and no listening. In that case mask on.

[–] theUwUhugger@lemmy.world 16 points 12 hours ago

Thats why you go for femboys! He is a bro with a hole!!!

[–] magic_lobster_party@fedia.io 6 points 11 hours ago

5 beers / hour

[–] ceenote@lemmy.world 7 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

including the Titanic

B-b-but...

[–] SanctimoniousApe@lemmings.world 5 points 11 hours ago

Oh, relax - your heart will go on.

[–] But_my_mom_says_im_cool@lemmy.world 5 points 12 hours ago (7 children)

Why do people care about incomes and jobs when they date? What do you care how much money i make, you ain’t getting any of it. My job is my way of making money and in no way reflects my personality in any way, so I don’t even like talking about work and capitalism on a date.

[–] jjjalljs@ttrpg.network 23 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

Many people don't want to date someone destitute or with poor financial prospects. That's just going to be hardship, and there are many other people that are probably just as good a fit without that problem.

Similarly, someone who makes way more money than you can add tension. They might be like "oh let's go out for dinner!" to someplace expensive, and you don't have the budget for it. Are they going to pay for it? Are they going to resent that? Are they going to pressure you into paying? Their expectations and standards may not align.

Also, if the relationship is going to be long term most people assume there will be some merging of finances.

Some jobs are also just gross. I wouldn't date someone who worked at Facebook. I wouldn't date someone who worked for Fox News. Your job 100% can reflect your values and personality.

[–] But_my_mom_says_im_cool@lemmy.world 2 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

It’s sad that money trumps love and attraction now

[–] jjjalljs@ttrpg.network 3 points 3 hours ago

I mean, that's kind of been the case for like all of recorded history

[–] can@sh.itjust.works 4 points 12 hours ago

Ideally in the future it will build into a partnership where it will matter.
