MODERATORS

These bring forward the deadline for candidates for December's presidential election, give Ben Sulayem the possibility to bar any candidate from running against him and allow him more control over the membership of the FIA Senate.

Fuck man why are these rich fucks from the Gulf States trying to seize control of every popular pro sport on Earth? What is the end goal? Do they want to emulate US’s cultural victory or something? Do they want to enforce their morals and values onto the liberal west via sport?

Because when the oil runs out they want something else to prop up the regime. This is the easiest way to do that because it's all just money based. They don't need to create or produce anything. Just spend oil money they already have.

Sports washing is probably also a major goal of them, to improve their image and get more tourists into the country. Like Qatar has hosted the World Cup and that tournament isn’t known as a money maker for the host country.

Yup. It's not so bad here, F1 and FIFA and the Olympics and X event come here every year or every few years. Come see how great this city is (that only exists due to horrid slave labor and we only allow chosen people to live in that reinforces the image we want the world to see)

You know this isn’t the Saudi Prince “MBS,” right? Fine if you don’t like this FIA president but I’ve seen loads of people think they are edgy for saying “Fuck MBS” like he’s the murderous despot of KSA.

I say: fuck both. MBS as well as MBS

Usually this statement ends with 'trying to limit his control' not 'trying to extend his control' smh.
