In Brazil public employees can't be fired without the government suing the employee and a judge agreeing with them. The right have been attacking this right for years, saying that government workers have no incentive to work, because they can't be fired. The rest of society had argued that this right is fundamental to protect government employees from the political wimps of elected officers. The destruction of the federal government by Trump, proves how important is the workers protection of government employees against unilateral decisions from politicians.

Much of what Trump is doing is also illegal here. The problem is who can hold him accountable? He appointed a Supreme Court majority that declared him immune “for official acts” and a slim legislative majority that seems ok with him usurping their authority. He declared existing unions as illegal and eliminated due process. Where did all our checks and balances go?

Don’t let that happen to you

Trump: We are not touching Medicaid or Social Security

Goes on to destroy whole sections of said agencies rendering them mostly useless for those of us that need them (like me).

The sacking of the office could lead to cuts in assistance to low-income families next year unless the Trump administration restores the positions or moves its duties elsewhere [....] HHS is required annually to take Census Bureau poverty-line figures, adjust them for inflation, and create guidelines that agencies and states use to determine who is eligible for various types of help.
