“The United States of America will not allow communist China or any other country to threaten the canal’s operation or integrity,” he said.

He noted that the U.S. and Panama strengthened their defense and security cooperation in recent weeks and together “will take back the Panama Canal from China’s influence.”

The only threat to the canal I can think of came from the Trump administration.

There's only one scenario where any of this makes sense and that's if the administration has really good evidence that China is going to war against the United States and the United States wants to pre-secure important naval corridors before the war begins. That's the only way any of this makes sense. Tariffs, Greenland, Panama, distancing ourselves from Ukraine, etc. Is all this for a build-up to war or is something else afoot?

is something else afoot?

Mafia Don Mangolini is desperately searching for any way to effect some kind of global-scale change that will yield a lasting legacy in his name...

Gulf, Greenland, Panama, Canada, name on all "his" buildings in all countries, and such are all of that search.

What he refuses to accept is that he already has cemented a lasting legacy in his name... And nothing he does from here to death will change that legacy.

Simultaneously, he has been deluded about tariffs (what they do and what they're for) along with what a "trade deficit" is/means since the 80's. ("To me, a deficit means a loss.") No one corrected him then cause he had no dangerous influence. Now that he's in politics, old, and demented, there is no correcting him cause you'll just be labeled disloyal, fired, and ostracized. He won't listen. Too stooopid and convinced of his "genius".

Alternative way it makes sense. Donald Trump is literally a Russian asset and his admin is purposely fucking shit up.

Tertiary way it makes sense. They're dumb one-dimensional beings bumbling around at whatever is shiny at the moment.

But China owns Russia, and I doubt they are happy with Putin's pet peeing all over the place.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 5 days ago

Idk if China owns Russia but probably nobody is happy with it other than Russia given they've escaped all the tariffs shenanigans.

They don't need evidence, they can just say it and everyone will get on their knees and kiss the diaper.

That's some repulsive imagery you've painted.

That’s the only way any of this makes sense.

Not at all. The other way that this makes sense is that Trump, Hegseth and mob are incompetent wannabe 19th-century imperialists out to grab whatever they can.

Is all this for a build-up to war or is something else afoot?

They're incompetent and evil enough to blunder into a war. The bigger question is what kind of war? My guess is that it'll be a war, allied with Russia, against Western Europe and modern civilization.

Could want to use it as leverage in their insane trade war
