This pope doesn't live the lifestyle you suggest he lives. Two sets of clothes, austere meals, a simple bed, a desk, and not much else. Even his travels are for the good of others, as there's not much to enjoy by those experiences for him. He may set the tone for many Catholics across the globe, but that's the extent. He constantly pleas for an end to genocide in the Middle East. He shames the US president for having the wrong priorities. And he asks us to take care of our neighbors. You would think most people on this platform would like the guy. He has flaws, but so do all of us.

I can recognize abuse of a human. I can recognize abuse of an animal. I have no idea what abuse of a computer program looks like.

I tried to find more information about her claim about divorce and female homicide rates. Over that time period, male homicide also dropped considerably. I am wondering how she knows that there's a causational relationship with divorce and not other factors?

This is the canary in the coalmine. We will see the entire internet become gated to specific authorized gateways as corporations hoard data to monetize AI training. If AI corps can just setup an RSS feed to their bots, they have no incentive to pay for your information and mine. The whole internet is going to be a heap of burning garbage.

Parents of school children at Brookwood and elsewhere in Leawood have pushed for safe streets and sidewalks after Duke Ommert, a student at Brookwood, was killed while riding his e-scooter almost a year ago.

But residents along Mohawk and Pawnee Lanes were adamantly against the sidewalk plan because they would have to pay for their installation...

Before Sunday, 541 deaths around the world since 1981 had been logged by the BASE Fatality List, maintained by an online community for the sport. This year, 15 such deaths have been reported globally, according to the list.

In Kansas anyone can summit a concern for an elderly prison's ability to drive and it results in mandatory driver test before the next renewal.

She could still be convicted of manslaughter.

State minimum is $25k. Them there's underinsured motorist coverage. Then, after that, a court may take her assets to pay the expenses. The family can get at least $250k for "wrongful death," but potentially more.

The lady who hit him has auto insurance and that'll pay the bill.

My intuition suggests seniors aren't a greater statistic because they don't commute for work or school and drive fewer overall mileage.

Charging documents say when the police initially arrived at the scene, they noticed the baby was badly burned. Police were told the mother “was putting her child down for a nap, and accidentally placed the child in the oven instead of the crib.”

I'm going to guess that creating more categories and divisions produce more winners which reinforce interest in the activity. In this case, we get a news article about a new record, even if it isn't the record.

“Adding affordable housing can increase the number of, of elementary and school age children, but it’s not going to reverse the trend we’re seeing,” said Dick. “At the end of the day, birth rates are falling not only in the United States..."
