Brain got the excellent speaking voice.
I met Maurice LeMarche at comic con way back in maybe 2002 or so at the Futurama panel and got him to record the Brain's "Yes!" And also "Oh, what luck! I've got a French fry caught in my beard!" as Orson Welles from the Critic onto my Palm Pilot, lol. Used them as ringtones for years. Very nice guy.

My favorite theory about pinky and the brain is, in the opening song, they say "one is a genius, the others insane", but when they say "one is a genius", they show pinky, and then they say "the others insane", they show the brain, indicating that pinky is the actual genius in the group and the brain is the insane one.
The theory I heard was Pinky was the genius and his goal was stop Brain from taking over the world. He always found a way to stop his plans. So it tracks that the song would go that way.
The only reason we think its the other way around is because the POV is from The Brain's twisted perspective.

Pinky was the genius
As a kid, I obviously thought it was Brain.
I think it was all Pinky just doing it for a laugh with his insane friend.
We largely see the show from the perspective of Brain. It's not unbelievable that Pinky, or some of the "stupid" things he says are hallucinations, whether visual or auditory and that Brain attributes his hallucinations to Pinky's "stupidity" due to the Dunning-Kruger effect.
Obviously, this is a death of the author interpretation but... I think we all died this year anyway so that feels alright
