Dear Posteo customers,

We have good news: Starting immediately, the price of โ‚ฌ1 per month includes more storage space โ€“ we are increasing it from 2 GB to 4 GB.

The adjustment applies to all Posteo mailboxes: both for new and existing customers.

Is Posteo better than Protonmail or Tuta?

[โ€“] bort@sopuli.xyz 2 points 9 hours ago

I use posteo for mail/calendar and proton for everything else.

Tuta is nice, but you have to use their app or website to read your mail.
Search is slow and often requires you to rebuild the search cache.
And last time I used Tuta, I couldn't sort my email in other ways than time.
It's very secure though and allows for E2E encryption with passwords.

Posteo allows you to use any IMAP client to access your mail.

[โ€“] JustEnoughDucks@feddit.nl 3 points 15 hours ago

It is literally no more secure than any other email. Almost all emails support E2E encryption with passphrase, and any email that can use IMAP can through clients too.

The problem is that 99.99% of emails (not counting deltachat) have no way of utilizing that, so it is just as insecure on Tuta as anything else, just better marketed.

They all get the job done. Posteo has no free plan and only one paid plan which is the cheapest of the three (1โ‚ฌ/mo).

If you want to save money, Purelymail is 10 dollars a year, no strings attached, unlimited custom domains. It's blissful.

Edit: I'm stupid, it's based in the US

Thanks, but Iโ€˜ll not switch back to a US service, kinda the point of this community.

[โ€“] Scrollone@feddit.it 2 points 15 minutes ago

Yeah I'm stupid, sorry. I've started reading about email services and I thought we were taking about independent providers in general
