This is a community for discussion, news, and memes pertaining to the video game sub-genre "soulslike".
Given Lemmy's size, the definition of soulslike may be treated relatively loosely. While games like the numerous FromSoft titles, the recent Star Wars Jedi games, Lies of P, Nioh and similar games should be the focus, games that incorporate soulslike elements - like Hollow Knight and Blasphemous, for example - may also be discussed here.

I didn't mind Gemini, it helped balance the fact that we never hear P speak, I only cringed during the ride to the church.
As for companions, I'm hoping that in the next game in that universe ( the wizard of oz game) we get Dorothy as a protagonist and toto as a sort of companion/summon, that seems like a no brainer to me. Obvs a silent companion but taking that Dorothy would be a voiced protagonist.
Also the prospect of a named, female protagonist in a soulslike has me pumped!
I didn't even mind that. Usually, I find that kind of dialogue to be very cringey, but maybe because I like(d) the game so much, I just embraced his silly monologues and saw it as a nod from the developers that they're in the know.

Absolutely! And in a non-objectified way too, hopefully. Not like the female protagonist of a recent certain China-inspired soulslike that features certain... assets

Also, for Gemini it was a ~small~ cringe, I actually kind of missed his commentary a bit in the DLC.
