Bike lanes are cool an all but at least have the road large enough to accommodate them, and having an island or jersey barriers between cars and bikes really should been mandatory.
Bikes came first and will be last to go, so what matters is to keep cars out of bike lanes.
I can break your mind by saying: "Sometimes cars don't belong on roads."
