That reminds me. I thought tourist was another word for terrorist until 13; I finally checked the different definitions cuz I was cast in the Despicable Me school play and got confused about the opening scene where a bunch of tourists discover the Pyramids of Giza were stolen.

So would you like help and support? It doesn't have to be from me, but I still want to make sure at least someone is trying.
Hey! Exactly 2 weeks ago to this day, I messaged you about your mental health and asked if you wanted help seeking therapy. Why did you just ignore me? Rude.
Has anybody made anti-greenwashing boycott stickers to put on products?
I can break your mind by saying: "Sometimes cars don't belong on roads."
No it isn't. Bats are wooden and used for baseball. Duh doi
Yeah, I think more is being lost here than "solved". Sometimes you need to ask simple questions about complex things. Ask any teacher and they'll say that students deepen their own understanding just as much as they teach back. It's part of the flow of creative ideas and inspiration. Everybody should have the right to be curious, ask questions, learn and make new discoveries.
Instead, this feels like "You are only allowed to have ideas once you've gone through the propogandization program to have the right ones". But I still do agree that we need to start trying lots of things to combat misinformation. Maybe a rebrand of education to show how much more interesting reality is than conspiracy theories. A focus on the truth that so much remains unknown, and conspiracy theories are like unhealthy junk food that never satiates that truth.
ive given this A LOT of dwell time and thought, and i think we're both partially right and wrong.
even when the negatives outweigh the positives, some things are worth doing. every solution is just accounting for as many of the things that can go wrong as we can imagine. but even when things go wrong, we can always fix it. your democracy has gone wrong, and it isn't enough to just point out the things going wrong. you have to fix it too.
find a fat tree, then hug and kiss it to show you love yourself💞
all the complexity of living comes from turning your awareness on and off

WOW, why does this comment section have so much misogyny and Islamophobia? Are people seriously only looking at the Wikipedia article then stopping once their prejudices are confirmed?
How can you seriously claim that Fatima al-Fihri didn't exist because the Rawd al-Qirtas was written centuries afterwards so it's untrustworthy? And that's according to "some historians" over a millenia later? Like, check the references, one is just a french guy saying in his opinion it's too much of a coincidence that the 2 most famous mosques of Fez were built at the same time by 2 sisters??
There are also people claiming it was just a mosque and not a learning institution...

I searched for a while to find a photograph of her diplomas on display, but couldn't find any; if anyone else can find them, share them here! I did find pics of the first medical diploma issued though! Take a wild guess where it was issued from?

Like... c'mon. This place is truly deserving of so much respect and honour. This is such a stunningly beautiful site with so much rich historical significance, and it's unbelievable that there are comments diminishing that and lying about "the truth". I'll finish off with words from an article about the library's renovations from 2016:
